I've been working for Resource Energy for almost 1 year now and I can say it's the best place I've worked so far. - The environment in the office is great, you can tell people is happy to be here and there are a lot of fun activities in a regular basis (Minimum 3 times a month) - Management and HR team proactively listen to the employees needs and are always improving things, for instance they recently improved the work from home policy and added an extra Holiday. - The job is really well defined and every person is fully responsible for their own job, but everyone has the resources to do their job efficiently and coworkers are always more than happy to help anyone who needs it. - Work life balance is also pretty good. There is a lot of flexibility and the workload is usually good to cover a 40 hours workweek - It offers clear career paths and the company encourage and help employees to succeed
Cons
This company has their own procedures so on your first days you will probably feel a bit lost as you will need to learn everything from zero. Even though there is a training you will need to proactively ask questions to learn how to handle different situations.

Pros
This company is truly a rare find. First, the CEO of our company is perfectly involved in client management as well as actively expanding the business. He is the driving force behind the company, teaching all the employees, no matter what position they are, that they can make a difference in the organization. The company holistically promotes working from home and working with you on your schedule in order to ensure your happiness at the company. I have never seen a company care more about their employee’s well-being. Lastly, they have a culture club and actively plan new events to touch on all age groups of the company. If you want to start or continue your career in the energy field, Resource Energy is the place to be.

Pros
This is the first company I've worked for that REALLY cares about their employees. The CEO goes out of his way to make sure his staff is happy and Sr Management follows suit. The culture is evolving and the company takes feedback seriously and takes action to make improvements. Personal contributions are recognized and appreciated. Management is passionate about their work, empowers employees and supports career growth.
Cons
There are a lot of entry level positions which obviously leads to turnover either because people take their experiences to new opportunities outside the company or because they are promoted from within.

- You'll learn a lot of valuable hard skills, like data analysis and manipulation, particularly on Excel. - You can work from home once a week, and this gets increased with time. - You'll get good mix of exposure to accounting practices as well as energy systems management.
Cons
- Training process is pretty rough because there is a huge learning curve, but if you survive the first few months, things will look up. - Ability to meet tight deadlines is crucial. There are very short turnaround times for deliverables sometimes, but if you can work efficiently during the day and ask your teammates for help, you'll survive. - Office is very quiet because the nature of the job is very individual-based. So if you're into more team-based type tasks, this environment may not be for you.

Comments below are based on my experiences with the company. Rapid development of analytical skills and data set management. Immersive and extensive experience with Microsoft Excel including efficient spreadsheet design and formula optimization. Exposure to a large client portfolio and experience working with their administrative and managerial departments. Good introduction or deepening of understanding of the commercial energy management industry.

Comments below are based on my experiences with the company. Work-life balance is not a priority. Expect 50+ hour weeks in order to avoid getting behind. Individual workload expectations are unreasonable and associated deadlines are unrealistic. Working in evenings, on weekends, and on PTO days is not uncommon and arguably expected. Expect to work through lunch frequently. Culture is poor. Silent office throughout the day with little to no talking due to workload and deadline pressures. Anxiety and exhaustion across all staff. Very depressing and irritable atmosphere. Some staff try to improve culture through lunchtime activities but they’re few and intermittent, and sometimes feel forced. Candor and honesty from Analysts never feels encouraged. Which is a shame considering they’re the backbone of the company. Micromanagement and over-scrutiny of work quality is commonplace and the level of quality expected under workload and deadlines is unacceptable. Little to no direction from senior management and any direction that is given is often hastily changed with little warning to Analysts. Occasional unprofessional conduct from senior leadership (yelling, making a scene, etc.). Benefits are not ideal and pay is low for workload. High turnover as a result of these issues. Staff often stay fewer than 2 years and it’s common to see resignations before 1 year. This job is absolutely not something to make a career out of.

Pros
RES is a good company for those who have just graduated college. You can learn soft skills as in email writing, working on a team, talking on the phone professionally, etc. There is a generally good camaraderie among analyst (only) as they only want what's best for one another.
Cons
There is a clear divide among upper management and analysts. Management berates lower position analysts and does not encourage or support them. Analysts start to think so little of themselves because they are constantly getting put down. The tone in the office is mute. It is constantly silent and there is minimal chatter. If one does speak he/ she is stared at like he/she is doing something unthinkable. There is little room to grow which causes the extremely high turnover. The company is held back from successful because all senior staff look for new employment after a year. Therefore, things that have been done in years past gets lost in emails of people that have left. There is zero cross training and false promises during interviews that there is.
