    Pros

The culture, products and people were excellent. The management were caring , focused and allowed the high quality talent the opportunity to produce good results without being micromanaged. My direct report was excellent.

    Cons

They served bagels every Friday which led to people eating to many tasty treats. This of course showed the employees that a caring management was in place.

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus on good products, treating customers and employees with high respect and maintaining a good vision for the company.

    Pros

My teammates. What a great group!

    Cons

Once again, new investors come in and hack the company up to show a quick ROI and then sale the company to another gullible investor. It reminds me of flipping houses. It takes very little talent to slash and cut! True talent and leadership is demonstrated by building an organization that is truly committed to its customers, communities and employees.

I worked at Retalix full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, 401K match (with NCR acquisition)

    Cons

Israelis run the show - my way or highway. Can't understand why NCR hasn't taken the reigns. Weird work ethics - "F" bombs are common in everyday language in a white collar job. If your boss is Israeli, all I can say is - get the hell out of here. They will favor their kind so shamelessly and run all over you. On top of it, lots of people with no degree and experiences like store clerks/cashiers athe numbers- made to be Directors and Principals. beware of their 'professionalism'!! Only emphasis is achieve Targets. Management will clearly tell you they are not interested in growing your career or investing in your learning. What amazes me is the shameless attitude by big bosses. If you are in Supply Chain Management (GEMS) and you are the kind who is a true professional, watches what he says, and does work honestly- you are the worst match for this place. Do yourself a favor and start looking elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Retalix top management has worked only at Retalix all their lives. they can't probably get a job elsewhere. They will never leave. You gotta leave. I hope and pray NCR takes charge of mis-management going on even after the acquisition.

    Clean facility.
    Free coffee/tea.
    Above average benefits.
    Hard working people.

    Cons

    Pay structure below market.
    Extensive hours with little reward.
Greedy executives who think only of profits at the expense of product quality and employee life.
Retalix primary focus is about profit, with little concerns for employee life.
    Undefined and poorly documented software.
Buggy software and no emphasis on fixing the root causes. Just do the quick fix.
Employees are treated as if they don't have a choice but to work there.
    ============
Expect to work 50+ hrs work week.
Expect big brother looking over your shoulder.
Expect slave work for peanut salary.
Expect to do a work of 2-3 person.
Expect to not to spend quality time with your family, weekday or weekends.
Expect to be own by Retalix. Everything else is secondary, family included.

    Advice to Management

Get a life and give your employee a life. Be a company that put people above profit.

    Pros

Good place to learn how very mediocre people rise and shine using their political abilities.
many challenges for people in managerial positions.

    Cons

    wow i have too many...
    1. mediocre as i said before
    2. no mentors, people to look up to. if you have no previous experience in other company/ies, most chances that you will learn very bad skills and bad practices.
    3. outdated technologies
    4. HR is practically absent. no care of the employees what so ever. if you are not well connected, no one will give a damn.

    5. C H A O S!!! absolute chaos!

    Advice to Management

start with going to management school and go up from there...
    intimidation does not work!
if we were seeking an IDF experience, we would have stayed there!!

I worked at Retalix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of fine, dedicated people trying to do their best in an extremely unprofessional and unpleasant environment

    Cons

Retalix was an extremely unprofessional organization with a Byzantine management culture. Amazingly, NCR made it even worse. The person NCR brought in to lead the transition was clearly out of his depth. The result was a fiasco for both NCR and the employees of Retalix

    Advice to Management

Join the 21st century. Avoid obsessive organizational changes. Get the right people on the bus.

I worked at Retalix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

only specific individuals hand picked can be considered as a pro in the company.
there is nothing as a company that i can say is a pro.

    Cons

no work processes, no integrity - not to the customers and not to the employees. treat the employees as "resources" with disregards to them as people with families and life. the napotism in the company is terrible - incompetent people get different positions and bring their incompetent friends to do the same

I have been working at Retalix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The working people (non-management) it's what makes people stay (or come back)

    Cons

Lots of promises. Want a salary review? forget about it
On the bad years they have a reason why not to give bonuses or salary increases and on the good years they come up with excuses like we have to invest on the technologies, or some other excuse.

    No personal development. No training.

No real actual HR. The HR department, they're really just the management puppets.

    Advice to Management

Put effort on the people who give you the results that make your fat bonuses grow.
