I have been working at Retensa (Less than a year)

    Pros

People are hands down the best part of the organization. It is clear the managers care about us and the client experience. Job stretch projects are frequent.

    Cons

In service industry where might not have the project you want all the time. Unclear career growth. People can move up, no clear open positions or departments to fall into.

    Advice to Management

Transparency on growth and fiscal strength with less buzz words. Increase compensation. Hire more people for improved work load or work life balance.

    I worked at Retensa part-time

    Pros

Work directly on client projects to understand the nature of OD/HR consulting and to develop tangible skills for your resume. If you work hard and do good work you will be recognized.

    Cons

You are overworked and not paid although you are treated like a paid employee. Sometimes the CEO forgets this and pushes interns too hard. The company doesn't have enough full time staff to function effectively and this can sometimes negatively affect interns who don't get enough guidance and can be stuck doing repetitive or simple tasks.

    Advice to Management

    1) pay your interns at least minimum wage, it is illegal for them to do client work and not get paid, and you will see a return on it 2) Invest in more paid staff to support and retain the staff you have now 3) operate with transparency to keep interns from becoming disenheartened

    Pros

Great client-facing experience in OD consulting. Perfect internship for I/O Psych or HR majors interested in OD consulting. Master's degree interns only.

    Cons

You do valuable work for free or almost free. But the experience and learning gained really compensates for that fact.

    Advice to Management

Better pro-activity, some projects are thrown at Associates at the last minute.
Sometimes it would be good to practice more of what Retensa preaches- in recognition, praise, and appreciation.
