I worked at Retro Fitness part-time

    Pros

    Flexible hours
    Care about employees
Opportunity to converse with many people

    Cons

    No full-time manager
    Low pay
No cleaning crew, I worked front desk by myself while also having to clean the gym

    Advice to Management

Halfway through my time at Retro fitness, the manager quit and the owner never hired another one. This made it extremely difficult to deal with an everyday basis. There ALWAYS needs to be a full-time manager at any job.

I worked at Retro Fitness part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Rather easy work flow, good member interaction, free membership, easy to perform tasks, networking with members, twenty percent employee discount.

    Cons

Bad management, terrible pay, lack of communication, innefficient processes, long hours, no staff acknowledgement, unproductive personal training program, open on holidays, stressful environment, early opening and late closing shifts.

    Advice to Management

Create structure that makes sense. Make certain management doesn't micromanage. Pay employees what they're worth, and for the responsibilities they take on. The Fitness Coaching program was very innefficient and couldn't even break even. Acknowledge your staff, and don't over work them, or turn over will be through the roof, as it was at my location.
