I have been working at RevLocal full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

As a digital marketing consultant you enjoy flexibility and uncapped earning potential. Since I've worked here they have gotten their training processes streamlined, are constantly keeping up-to-date with technology in their industry, and truly do care about their customers and their employees.

    Cons

Since most Consultants do work in remote markets away from the home office occasionally you can feel like an island. It is easy to keep in contact with your fellow Consultants though so you don't have to feel alone unless you make yourself that way.

    Advice to Management

From my start 3 years ago I've always valued how accessible upper management is, as we continue to grow please make sure not to lose that.

I worked at RevLocal full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Management works hard on being transparent. Fun trips to HQ in Ohio. An okay job if you have someone else supporting you with income, but hard to live in high rent locations on the compensation package provided.

      Cons

Low pay, high stress. If you're in sales, the retention is terrible. They will tell you that have a high customer retention rate but they DON'T.

      Advice to Management

You need to pay the people you have their worth before you invest all your money in recruiting more. You're going to continue losing good talent if you can't pay more competitively.

I have been working at RevLocal full-time for more than a year

      Pros

They pride themselves on having a fun culture which they do. Many of the employees are young and the environment is pretty relaxed and casual. They offer fun perks like once a month massages, activities like a kickball tournament, and more.

      Cons

The retention rate is not good and all they talk about is meeting there numbers and getting more people. They are a business at the end of the day so both of those things are an important and valid but forgetting about the employees you already have and trying to over work them isn’t the solution. Three main factors are why you should be careful before deciding to take the position. First, if you ask if working from home...

      Advice to Management

Start taking hr and your surveys seriously. Focus on the employees you have and not always concerned about growth as the only thing that’s important. Make what you have more efficient and strong so that you have people that stick with you more than a couple of months to a year. The perks and culture are great but cant cover up the real problems, just like a bandaid can’t cover a knife wound. There are so many great things...

      Pros

Work from home, opportunity to grow if you agree with a model.

      Cons

Micro management, constant change, poor reporting system, mistrust, poor management. Many talent has either left the company because RevLocal does not care nor they innovate. If they do it is nothing new. All they do is to exploit their employee's personal and professional network for new business. There is no base so you will never be certain on how much you are actually making. Any given day you can wake...

I have been working at RevLocal full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

Great team atmosphere where everyone wants you to grow and succeed! Plus ever since they have revamped their new onboarding training they are light years ahead of competition. Plus you control your own schedule and have freedom to do things on your schedule.

        Cons

No real cons except the regular outside sales cons such as you’re on your own doing your own territory 95% of the time. But I love that.

        Advice to Management

Keep doing what you’re doing and continue to grow the company while maintaining the employee first mentality.

I have been working at RevLocal full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

RevLocal offers the best digital marketing service in the industry by far. Also they have great mentors, flexibility in schedule, and hard work is rewarded.

        Cons

While the stated average salary range is $40k-$70K for first year consultants, I find that the vast majority of consultants are struggling to make decent money.

        Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing, but maybe err on the side of caution when projecting salaries. While the average salary presented may be correct, a median salary would be more accurate to publish. Also, it would help new consultants tremendously if they understood the product more fully before doing drop-ins.
