I have been working at Revel Consulting full-time (More than a year)
I love the experience of being a Reveler - I've done consulting at a number of firms, and I think Revel has the best mix of client impact, culture, and internal intellectual culture. Clients love us - we dramatically improve their performance, period. Being here has upped my game as a professional and strategist immensely - I have learned so much from my very diverse consultants and operations colleagues. I am so excited to see how I grow and learn in the coming months and years.
As you can see from the mixed reviews, many people love it here and a few don't. Make sure you talk to current and former employees to triangulate whether you'll like it here. Revel is rapidly maturing in terms of HR and internal processes - it's wonderful to see the sincere effort being made to make things better for everyone.
Advice to Management
Thank you for making Revel such a thrilling place to work!
Ensure expectations and norms are communicated and clarified with everyone - not everyone is a self-starter or rockstar, so communicating up front "what success/distinctive performance looks like" is critical.

Revel leadership encourages autonomy and individual mastery. With it's smaller footprint, low overhead, and well structured organizational model (read: not top heavy), Revel employees can really become a partner with their clients. Ownership of the relationship isn't left for top level executives, but rather a responsibility of everyone to continue to cultivate. We are taught to be ourselves and to do what's best for the client even at the risk of sacrificing new revenue.
The smaller size allows the company to be nimble and you can see how your individual contributions effect the bottom line. Due to the fact that there is so much to be done both for our clients and internally, you can have the opportunity to get involved in as many areas of the business, beyond delivering a project.
Again, a smaller firm means one often has to wear multiple "hats" which may not be desireable for some. Additionally, the low overhead model doesn't support a robust training program and expects individuals will look to outside resources and depend on project experience to gain those new skillsets.
Pure Model - great for consultants that just want to do a good job & have decent pay. You don't have to worry much about the politics and imperfect review system.
Solution Manager Track - great for motivated individuals to manage a robust team, work with high profile clients, and run you own P&L(s).
Pure Model - comp cap due to margin & bill rate, lack of growth opportunity, and staffing company feel for some.
Solution Manager Track - overfunction due to demand & expectations from client/account/consultant/internal COE. We've to consistently mindshift to be successful.
