I have been working at Revlon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Revlon just moved to "Open Office Environment"! Similar to Congress not being required to use Obamacare; they force everyone else into it saying how great it is, yet management remained in closed offices. In fact, moving employees to cattle stalls allowed manager's to increase the size of their already large offices!

    Cons

They first moved NY into open offices which are literally cattle stalls ... huge rooms with hundreds of people sitting together at long tables. In order to fit we had to trash files and remove 99.5% of personal belongings. They held a meeting describing the upcoming move, stating that it would improve communications and productivity"; they actually compared themselves to Google!! Apparently Revlon management is unaware of something called a "google search" because if they had they would have quickly realized:

    1. Cubicles were invented long ago as a remedy to the negative impacts of open-offices.

    2. Open-offices significantly decrease productivity because of the constant distractions (noise, movements, interruptions, non-work chatter, etc.).

    3. Attendance declines because of the germs spread.

    4. Employee happiness suffers greatly because of NO privacy (unable to make a doctor's appointment, to check on a sick child, or add a few personal effects, etc.).

    5. Increased stress - Because of all the interruptions and distractions employees required to work more hours to accomplish same amount of work and because they feel they are now being watched.

    6. Revlon requires office staff to participate in so many daily conference calls with other locations making it impossible to hear yourself think!

They even created a long list of new office rules: how often you could get up, banning "offensive" smells (certain deodorant, perfumes, food, etc.)! We may as well be robots at this point!

    Advice to Management

They first moved NY offices to this environment. Had they asked even one NY employee they would have quickly realized that the only employees that had any positive feedback regarding an open-office environment it was the Millennials .... and only because it allowed them to socialize more!!!

I have been working at Revlon part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule
    Fun problem solving work days
    Independent jobs
    Drive time and milage stipends
    Work with management at accounts
Ability to make sales while in accounts

    Cons

    Seasonal work
    Unreliable in terms of consistency
When you get work it's full time, but the rest of the season is pretty sparse.

    Advice to Management

It would be great if we could have a little more consistency in the amount of work we receive.

I have been working at Revlon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and paid time off

    Cons

Oh where to begin. Management spends all their time in planning meetings but has no clue how to actually even run a line or what it truly entails. They have stopped hiring supervisors from within and only want people from the outside. They have alienated staff that has been there for 10,15, 20+ years and actually know how to run the place; they are leaving like rats off a sinking ship. Which is what Revlon is!! A sinking ship! If that facility is there in 2 years from now I will be shocked! I have been there for a little over a year and the ignorance I have encountered from management is unbelievable!! They don't care about employees at all. They are trying to go to 12 hour work days to eliminate overtime. If management could get their heads out of their hind parts overtime would not be needed in the first place. If you work here may God have mercy on your soul!

    Advice to Management

Get the full SAP module for the production floor, without it, SAP is going to fail miserably and you will have a bunch of employees standing around waiting on components and it will cost you so much more. Promote from within, there are people already there that can do the job with minimal training and it will save you money.

I have been working at Revlon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Summer hours and decent pay

    Cons

This place is incredibly toxic. It's run by a bunch of old women who have been there for 40 years. Upper management has no idea how to motivate a team, but are rather focused on what attire is being worn and how long you are going out for lunch. They do not care about the work that gets put in, but rather the appearance of work that gets put in. They do not like it if you get up from your desk and talk about anything non work related. It's as if you are always being watched. HR lady thinks she runs Revlon and is extremely rude and biased. She is only nice to upper management. No wonder the turnover is high. They might pay a decent salary but it's not worth it because there is no environment for growth and you are treated like crap!!

    Advice to Management

Change your HR, MAKE YOUR EMPLOYEES HAPPY SO THEY STAY. Revlon is getting terrible press and prices are going up. ACCEPT CHANGE... ACCEPT NEW PEOPLE. THE CULTURE NEEDE A DRASTIC IMPROVEMENT.
