I worked at Revlon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive salary, modest benefits and competitive vacation time. Some talented people sprinkled throughout the organization.

    Cons

Management changes every 2-3 years so the company doesn't improve sales or share (always changing strategy and changing staff). All of top management is male- no female voice in leadership- and all the strategic decisions about products are made by men who have never tried them. Company culture is very negative- sexual harassment and discrimination are tolerated, racial bias is rampant (only white men in leadership) and most employees have very low morale.

    Advice to Management

Recognize that to succeed in beauty you need women leaders- they are the users of the category and understand what women need and want in a brand. Stop changing the executive team every 2-3 years and get focused. Bring in modern HR people who can implement programs to improve company culture and morale.

    Pros

I really can't think of any other than the ideal of the product they sold.

    Cons

Terrible management, no real training, a bunch of mean women who back-stab to get ahead in business. It was honestly the worst working experience of my life.

    Advice to Management

Take a look in the mirror and evaluate your teams on merit. Stop the mean girl behavior and make a plan and keep going.
