I have been working at Revolution Digital full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This place is the only agency in NJ that does the same caliber of work that you can find in the city. Many of us have worked the most prestigious agencies in the world. We have brought that talent here and continue to do the same level of work, for the same level of brands. We are doing 360 campaigns with TVC, digital video, social, experiential, etc. We are at the table with the largest agencies in the world collaborating,...

    Cons

We work hard. Very hard. Our work is judged at a different level because we have to prove ourselves to each new client. We don't have the big agency name to hide behind.

    Pros

Summer Fridays!! Great brands. Really smart and friendly people. Zero divas. Management team is incredibly down to earth and understands work/life balance.

    Cons

Last minute client requests that come out of nowhere and shake things up. We are small so we are very busy. Seems like the same people always get to work on pitches.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people so everyone isn't so stretched when things like a pitch come in.

I have been working at Revolution Digital full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great space & location. A handful of friendly, hard-working people. WFH Fridays. Free bagels on Mondays. Happy Hours and such.

    Cons

*Layoffs: Like the previous reviewer said, there's no security which means you spend every day wondering who is next to go with no notice whatsoever. *Rotten from the top: The leadership team is a joke. Not only is there a complete lack of transparency with the staff as a whole, but the favoritism is abysmal. Keeping those who they are closest to at their hips, while keeping opportunity away from/letting go of those...

    Advice to Management

You've lost so many already, but there are numerous talented people still on staff. Consider actually listening to their opinions more, and consider making big changes from the top-down instead of continuing to do so from the bottom-up.

    Pros

Great town to work in. Easy access to NYC. Virtual days. Great working environment and friendly co-workers.

    Cons

No upward mobility. Lack of transparency. Very cliquey. Unfortunately, leadership is a joke. The owner of the company is extremely moody and can’t even be bothered with. The CCO walks around with a chip on his shoulder, and has no clue how to run a department. The CFO is completely useless and makes people feel uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep hard working employees; incentivize them. Offer room for advancement otherwise your best people will leave for better roles / opportunities. This company has so much potential.

I worked at Revolution Digital full-time

    Pros

Great location, great space, decent benefits.

    Cons

Upper management disconnect, lack of new business over time, compulsive hire and fire mentality instead of hiring a lean mean group that can handle the busy and ride out the slow...they hire furiously when they think it may be busy and get rid of great people as soon as something changes. There is no balance and no security which means you spend every day wondering who is next to go with no notice whatsoever. No transparency...

    Advice to Management

People are assets not things. You can't run a company forcing the numbers to match up by hiring and firing people at will. To be successful you need to be there and to take the time to get to know the people that work for you.

I worked at Revolution Digital full-time

    Pros

Great work life balance, frequent team outings, modern office, bagel Mondays, cool brands, and nice work station. You also get to work on different types of projects each week, which makes the work more exciting. The tech team is hilarious, and keeps the energy flowing through a quiet office. They also do nice celebrations for people who are getting married, having a baby, etc.

    Cons

Read the past reviews. Unfortunately, they were pretty spot on. I went in with high hopes. Very cliquey, lots of drama, favoritism is clear, and employees regularly talk about each other behind their backs. Management is willing to throw you under the bus for any reason they please, instilling an overall sense of fear that you might be next. There was actually a running joke that new employees never stay -- that should...

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as equals, not machines. You never know what someone is going through behind the scenes. Trust, kindness, and respect go a long way. Instead of jumping the gun, see the opportunity to discover issues you could potentially fix.

      I worked at Revolution Digital

      Pros

Summer Friday's, great work life balance, awesome office atmosphere in a good location. Family run business with excellent creative/copy talent

      Cons

A seemingly bunch of great people and awesome NYC talent in the burbs, but don't let them fool you. As a small "wannabe" NYC agency, the lack of process and procedures illustrates that they will never hack it amongst the competition. They have a pretty decent array of clients, but will throw their own employees under the bus. In total agreement with the previous post - you'd be lucky if the President says good morning...

      Advice to Management

Take pride in your people. Don't paint the picture that your agency is something it really isn't. Implement more structure and corporate like policies.

      Pros

If you're looking for an agency that is a close knit family and truly growing in terms of clients and talent then this is the place to be. They take pride in what they do and they're meticulous with planning and execution. They really do create compelling brand experiences with measurable results using their expertise in web design, video, branding and digital strategy.

      Cons

They're out growing the space they're in because the company is growing too fast but rumor has it they're looking for a larger space.

I worked at Revolution Digital full-time

      Pros

Very small place so you get experience in a lot of moving parts of a project. Great work life balance and a real relaxed environment. Compensation was decent and they give decent benefits.

      Cons

This place is not an agency it's whatever work the other real agencies don't want to do, you'll get. I heard it called a "NYC ad agency in NJ" multiple times and had to laugh. All you'll do is run contests on Facebook pages and post coupons. You'll get no training or any direction on projects. It's kind of a free for all. Like previous reviews, the president is very moody. He was always the last one in and first...

      Advice to Management

Get it together. You are a small place which attracts a lot of eager people who want to do some real work. Embrace that and build an actual culture and do some cool things with your clients.
