I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Freedom/work from home
    - Most people you work with are great
    - awesome sales training programs
    - pretty solid "tools" for the job

    Cons

    - Pay is not even 1st in tobacco company segment, huge negative... even getting "promoted" is minimal jumps
    - gas stations... all day... everyday
    - promotions are limited at best..and favoritism rating system is used. (seriously call it as it is)
    - so much stress for no reason.. the job is not rocket science but management makes it out to be, very sad!

    Advice to Management

Great to start career.... but Please pay more, realize that millennial's and future generations are going to go elsewhere due to UNREALISTIC workload

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay, bonus, benefits. Empowered, engaged with plenty of challenges and opportunities. Be a team player, diverse workforce that values the contributions of all team members. Safety team, quality team, production associate engagement team. Opportunities to advance.

    Cons

No downside, in my opinion. Apparently this is true of most people's opinion since few leave, quit or resign. Bonuses could be larger. 401K matches could be a much higher percent. Some type of stock share with all employees, not to mention profit sharing.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend that in order to manage their people that they need a good understanding of more than the basics of the processes involved in efficiently producing a high quality product.

Workload can get overwhelming at times
Not the case for me but some DM's can micromanage

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you like mindless work and getting micromanaged into oblivion, Denver Market for Reynolds is your dream job.

    Company Car
    Decent Pay
    401k
Vegas trip every couple of years
If you play the game, can be a long term career.

    Cons

Micromanaged and always hiring to replace you. If you don't go by the book, they will throw you out. Work in gas stations and horrible convenience stores. Merchandising tobacco on a dirty floor and store.

    Advice to Management

Get on the same page. This company used to be built on an actual concept and now it's all based on where you live. Denver Market is strict and fire people all the time. Most other places, you can work 3 hours a day, make sure your stores are not on fire and you won't get fired.

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can't really think of too many... this is one of the most mundane jobs I have ever had. Getting paid holidays off is nice but nothing that no other company doesn't do.

    Cons

Very corporate like atmosphere that carries more about numbers than personnel and their wellbeing. Management loves carrying their contracts into accounts like a hammer and ready to swing it at store owners for noncompliance. They then leave you to clean up the mess on the subsequent visit.

Senior level management need to gain an understanding of what's happening in the streets with TMs. Too many tasks for one person to complete in one given day!!!

    Advice to Management

Get a clue and understanding of what's going on with the morale of Territory Managers cause it's not good!

    less management
