    Pros

-Company cares about employees and development
    -Good salary and great benefits
    -Fair vacation package
-Great job right out of college and way to get training and begin a career

    Cons

-Trending away from a "sales" job
-Some career growth, but limited and not the best system in place for promotions
-Bonuses, promotions, rankings, etc. are very subjective--a lot depends on the manager and others around you.

    Advice to Management

Continue the focus on developing your employees. Improve succession planning and ranking of employees. Keep a focus on sales to continue developing employees and allowing for increased income potential.

I worked at Reynolds American full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great culture among other reps, great pay, benefits, 401k, bonuses, company car for an easy & fun job.

    Cons

Most managers higher up than next level are so full of themselves, overpaid and quick to pass the blame when it doesn't go right. They have a good ol boys club there and it's hard to get in. Average tenure usually not more than 5 years if you are not part of that club & you probably won't get promoted.

    Advice to Management

There's some solid people that leave that could make the company even better, give them a shot and start looking from the top down.

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits, company car, education reimbursement, freedom on the road, great coworkers, and decent work-life balance most times. Great job if you are single and willing to move around the country to promote. Company seems to really try to do the right thing, even though it is a controversial industry. Great brands to work with.

    Cons

Management can sometimes hold unreasonable expectations. The base pay is pretty low compared to my last job in the same industry. Recent CRM launch has not gone very well at all. Arbitrary qualitative achievement goals that are weighted at 50% of bonus. Not a lot of opportunity to promote without displacing your entire life. Cost of living increase in California is nowhere near as high as it should be, currently 15% when it is closer to at least double when living in LA, SF, SD.

    Advice to Management

More pay when living in major metropolitan regions. Don't use the state average cost when making these cost of living decisions. This can create a lot of turnover. I really wish there was a lot more opportunity to advance without moving around the country, but I do understand how that could be difficult.

    Pros

Pay, benefits and commitment to employee development and well being are outstanding. Committed to a diverse workforce. Great opportunity to start on the "ground floor" and work your way up.

    Cons

It is the tobacco business, which is in constant decline. While the stated corporate strategy is "Transforming Tobacco" the lion's share of revenue and profits still come from traditional products such as combustible cigarettes and moist snuff. Efforts at innovation are well-intended but so far have not really caught on with consumers.

    Advice to Management

Pick a strategy and stick with it.
