Reynolds American provides a competitive environment. RAI is committed to employee development; encouraging employees to pursue training opportunities. RAI offers benefits such as work from home to suport work/life balance. RAI stands behind good sound science, data integrity, and credibility.

    Cons

I have worked for RAI for over 20 years. I find it most impressive that I struggle finding a Con to list about this company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop employees and support good sound science.

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I work at American Snuff Company Clarksville TN, have been with the company for almost 5 years, hands down the best company I've worked for in my life. From pay to annual bonuses, paid leave, sick and personal time witch in most companies now a days is not even heard of, paid holidays and 401k. That's the money part but they also help thru HR from financial help to medical short and long term disabilities witch they pay 100% also not heard of now a days. This is the BEST company to work for.

    Cons

If I had to put one it would be that the taste of success program witch is a great program but if you have a certain illness you are not eligible to be part of, and they pay co-workers when they participate and because of that illness that I had I can't, I would like for the company to see if there was a way to include those people that can't. Not the only one that fills this way

    Advice to Management

Stay on Course, Great Job, Keep up the Good Work.

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have a excellent training course and very experienced people to help you. The job offers a good wage and benefits along with bonuses and many other perks not offered by most other employers.

    Cons

They need to make preventive maintenance on machinery a more important factor.

    Advice to Management

Trust the people on the floor and listen to their concerns. It will benefit both parties.

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As a new employee, they find a nice balance between letting you learn your new job function and giving support through different orientation experiences and classes to get you caught up on the company history and culture. They have great benefits and I love the way that they focus on your individual development plan by including your desired personal leadership pathway on your employee profile! At my last company, high-performing employees had to wait for their managers to speak up for them (which may or may not happen depending on the manager) and had much less ownership of their career development, so kudos to Reynolds!

    Cons

A lot of team work is done which is a good thing, but sometimes the RACI idealogy might help to clarify roles and responsibilities for multi-lead projects.

    Advice to Management

Thanks for setting up newbies for success!

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company culture is amazing. They actually value their employees. Company car for field staff, bonuses, great pay, promote from within and help you excell.

    Cons

At panels the assessment would be more fair, for TM's, if you only compared TMI with a TM1, TM2 with a TM2, etc.

Having to uproot your family to get a job having to uproot them again to move up.

Insurance coverage could be improved. Having to $2000 out of pocket before they cover anything hurts. Plus monthly premiums. I have 3 prescriptions waiting to get picked up because I can't afford them.

    Advice to Management

I love this company and plan on retiring from here. I'm ambitious and want to move forward with my career, but every time I do that, it would have negative a impact on my family.

    Pros

I love this job! Great company with amazing support and training. Great benefits -- company car, paid vacation (Currently 5 weeks for me!), 401 etd. Very team oriented. You are left alone to manage your business.

    Cons

The lonely hours! With one of the pros being you are left alone to manage your business, it is also one of the cons. Lot's of time spent on your own. You have interaction with customers everyday and your team is always available, but at the end of the day it is just you out there getting it done.

    Advice to Management

Ensure we hit the goals! LTIPs for everyone!

I have been working at Reynolds American full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

What a wonderful fulfilling time is has been here at this company.
The key word is "Engagement" at all levels, with peers, management, customers, & consumers.
Great benefits, good compensation, bonus, car, 401K up to 6% match.
They will have continuing education/training through the company.

    Cons

This is an execution job, with there goal to turn it to communication job long term.
There is always too much to do.
50 hours a week is the norm.
You are on an island, must be self motivated with little supervision.
Very structured, very little latitude to innovate.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear avenue for advancement through the organization.
Everything can't be a priority. Cigarettes, Moist, VUSE, Gum, C/E's, CSS, IDP, Coaching.
Let's face it not every outlet is an opportunity.
