I worked at Reynolds and Reynolds part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people were cool. Everybody was allowed to focus on their own work, which I quite liked. If you didn't understand something the senior and full time employees were very helpful.

    Cons

A lot of the work was pretty menial. I would have liked to had more of a challange.

I have been working at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a great company to gain a lot of experience fast. If you are serious about your career and future, and are willing to put in the effort, Reynolds will help you grow.

    Cons

With any large company, it's hard for the organization to implement new and relevant policies all at once. However, they are attempting to appeal to their younger employees.

    Advice to Management

Perform reviews, or check-ins with employees on a regular basis, not just once or twice a year, when it is required by the company.

I have been working at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Reynolds is a great place to start your career. They have thorough on the job and classroom style training when you first start out, and offer professional development workshops periodically. Being my first job out of college, I enjoyed having structured training in addition to my on the job training with a mentor. My direct supervisor has been great, and I feel like the higher ups genuinely do what they think is best for the company. Lots of opportunities to get involved, both in athletics and with community service. 401K match is great, and the free gym is a nice perk.

    Cons

It's a traditional corporate environment. This might be a turnoff for some, but you know what you're getting into at least. Success is performance driven, which is good, but sometimes it can take a while to see the results of your efforts. Technology used by associates is usually outdated, unless you're in sales.

    Advice to Management

Don't just stick with the status quo.

--Unless you have a specific interest, software for car dealerships is not the most interesting or fulfilling product

I have been working at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Training opportunities
    Opportunity for advancement
    Company events are well executed
    Newer technology at desks
    Expectations are explained by management
    Regular company updates from President
    Coed sports teams
    On-site clinic
    On-site gym
    On-site dining
    Very good raises

    Cons

Ridiculous criteria for health care discount
Maximum 10 vacation days per year for first 5 years
Maternity leave policies are a joke
Lots of turnover, but to be expected in a college town
    Not many holidays off
Dining room options are not great and food isn't very good

    Advice to Management

Increase paid holidays to include more national holidays. Associates are having to use all vacation to take care of kids when they're out of school.
Maternity leave policies needs to be revisited. If a woman has a child in January or February, they have no paid time off the rest of the year for all of the appointments or sick time that inevitably comes in a child's first year.
Spend some money investing in campus upgrades to improve quality of life at work.

I have been working at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

For students, the part-time work at Reynolds has some advantages. Many part-time jobs are technical and the associates can learn technical and some electronic skills. Time-wise, most areas that employ part-time associates have a very flexible work schedule that can be easily worked around class schedules. The pay is very competitive with most 'skilled' part-time positions in the area.
The working environment is 'up' and positive. Supervisors and managers are quick to give praise as associates improve. There is good interdepartmental working relations. Pay scales are a very guarded, but using my pay as an example for supervisor-level pay in this business, it is very competitive.

    Cons

Most areas have limited upward mobility. The upper management is 'settled in'. There is not much room for advancement and limited raises.

I have been working at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have been with the company for 3 years working on a new program recently purchased by Reynolds. I have a lot of opportunities to grow with the program in creating new processes across many offerings. Job security is very strong and I am very comfortable with the consistency Reynolds provides.

    Cons

So many systems are owned by Reynolds that Programming has a difficult time keeping up. Most of the VPs at Reynolds are great and very caring, but there are also some higher ups that do not care about the people lower than them doing the dirty work.

    Advice to Management

My management team is very strong. They are very caring and interested in our well-being, but I would have to say that the corporate structure really hampers how they deal with their employees.

    Pros

    Very flexible with school schedule
Competitive pay with opportunities for a raise
    Good work environment
Good company to gain technical knowledge

    Cons

Hiring process is not very selective resulting in some poor employees . However, this is expected when most employees are college students.
