I worked at Rheem Manufacturing (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Tends to have very low turn-over, fairly recession proof (sales remain virtually steady during national/global recessions) thus almost never layoffs due to recession.
    Steady growth (sales) history.
Has progressive short/medium/long term business plans/goals and meets/exceeds goals every year.
    Competitive benefits.
    Competitive/high-end pay for many positions.
    Numerous in-house training opportunities.
Employee purchase program can save you thousands when replacing your HVAC system.
Intelligent and friendly coworkers make for a pleasant work environment.
    Progressive IT environment.

    Cons

Company tends to hire outsiders rather than promote from inside (only a con if you're looking to climb the ladder.)
Most promotions are in title only as job duties change little if any (not necessarily a con.)

I worked at Rheem Manufacturing full-time

Learning opportunities if provided with the right leadership.

    Cons

Lack of promotion from within for employees who try to pursue experiences in other departments.

I worked at Rheem Manufacturing (More than a year)

    Pros

pay is ok, not great but not bad. but thats thanks to a union, not the employer.

    Cons

They say they are getting new facilities, however there current facility is sub par at best ( you can take block out of the wall. city always requiring repairs). Shop supplied tools are in the same condition. They are investing highly in management. They have a manager for a manager for a manager type situation.

    Advice to Management

quit trying to change what has worked for so long. You may have a new management team that can make numbers look good but when your employees keep going to Allstate ( the competition) that needs to tell you something.

I worked at Rheem Manufacturing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Pay is nice, slightly above market average for position
    - 2 days off for major holidays
    - Atlanta office is located in a nice office complex with nice parking garage. Cafes and convenience stores within complex.
    - Benefits and 401k are nice.

    Cons

    - have to work 1 full year before you are allowed to take paid vacation days
    - poor management that does not understand what it takes to get the job done or how to handle difficult employees
    - Some of the most petty unprofessional coworkers I have ever worked with. Lots of gossiping and petty bad mouthing of other coworkers.

    Advice to Management

Be more selective of your employees. Do not allow employees to bully other employees or supervisors. Pay attention to who is doing the work. Diversify your employee base.

I worked at Rheem Manufacturing full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the co-workers were very professional.

    Cons

Despicable HR Processes. Several co-workers extremely unprofessional. Terminated as a scapegoat on a failing project.
