    Pros

Very friendly staff. Everyone was very helpful and quick to explain different procedures and aspects of the industry. They never lay off any of their employees no matter how well the business is doing.

    Cons

Absolutely nothing. This is a great company to work for.

I worked at Rho full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Comfortable work environment, you can wear jeans and tees to work
Profit share bonuses are given to all employees
    Merit bonuses given
    Annual raises
Nobody micromanages you in most groups
Everyone has access to training opportunities
    Small company

    Cons

Flat structure promotes undercover bullying and cliques
Employee retention is difficult in some roles and replacement is slow
Salaries are not equitable and there is a lot of variance within a role
The ability to work from home in other companies is not possible for most positions
You have to perform duties of multiple roles
Relaxed environment promotes laziness and eventually leads to an imbalance in workload on a team where some have to make up for the dead weight
Some project managers don't understand the meaning of ownership and responsibility, there is a lot of dumping work on others

    Advice to Management

Refresh the leadership of sectors and operations, it's not good to have the same people in charge for long periods of time, the fresh perspective an external expert (someone who has actually worked at another CRO before) is lacking

I worked at Rho full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice work environment. The company is trying to improve their Clin Op department, which is a departure from biostatistics. I found co-workers professional, knowledgable and friendly.

    Cons

No team cohesiveness. Each team conducts the same work differently. If you work with the right team you can be successful. Communications was a frequent issue and accountability varied on the employee.

    Advice to Management

Lack of clear communication. An update of SOP's an system. Many of the processes have redundancies with substantial variance on how they are carried out. Leads to frequent updates.

I have been working at Rho full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people and leadership. Company initiatives that value the employee and work life balance. Bonuses are greatly appreciated and the leadership celebrates success with the employees. Collaborative environment.

    Cons

On boarding for certain roles has historically been tricky. Company working to improve this but should still make Tina priority. The company should continue to focus on hiring folks who fit with the company culture.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the employee recognition initiatives!

I have been working at Rho full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Rho leadership really cares about and invests in their employees. They have a flat organizational structure which allows for a lot of cross-functional communication and collaboration. They offer competitive salaries and provide nice bonuses. They encourage their employees to explore avenues of work that may veer away from their original position.

    Cons

They can emphasize innovation over solidifying/perfecting prior projects and processes, which makes for a challenging day-to-day work experience.

    Advice to Management

It would help to have lead people in each functional area able to have less study-specific work so they can spend quality time on developing, implementing, and maintaining functional area guidelines and training references.

I have been working at Rho full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Low to no layoff strategy, casual work environment with skilled and highly motivated staff. Approachable CEOs who actually care about their employees, profit share, yearly bonus, an overall great place to work. Rho is a great place to get your feet wet in the industry and they are always looking for fresh, young talent.

    Cons

Low turnover which is great, however it also limits job growth in some departments. Employees once a month, which can be a bit challenging.

    Advice to Management

Use the money required to pay for things like in office phone booths to pay the additional staff it would take to pay employees twice per month.

I have been working at Rho full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For a small company, they have great perks and treat their employees well. Great work/life balance. They are quick to praise great work by employees, and I feel like the CEOs are very connected to day-to-day life at Rho.

    Cons

People stay here a while which is great, but it also limits job growth opportunities in my opinion. Middle management does not seem to share the great vision of the leadership team.
