I have been working at RichRelevance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I've done the glassdoor survey, I know what other companies are out there and thus I know compensation is good here.
WFH is easy, PTO is easy, people don't micro manage you here.
Real money coming in, we're profitable now, which feels great.
It's a cliche - but the people your work with are great, aside from a rotten apple or 2.

    Cons

We had layoffs about a year ago, that's rough to see happen.
We had a bad CPO who did damage. Many good people left because of his poor executions. He should have been fired long before he quit himself.
With the reduced size of 100-150 currently, there are not a lot of people that do the same thing I do, so I don't always have people that challenge me
Offices over the world, talking to people in different timezones
Little too heavily leaning on contractor companies

    Advice to Management

RR is not great at growing fast, grow slowly. Your SF office needs good hires especially

I have been working at RichRelevance full-time

    Pros

Well respected in marketplace, strong technology with large install base. smart people, compelling product, they spend money when they have to, but you never feel like the executive team is abusing the piggy bank and they require justification for expenses.

    Cons

culture has shifted as the company continues to mature, lots of smart folks have gone to other opportunities, management has changed over

I have been working at RichRelevance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Talented colleagues
    Interesting technology
    Great work-from-home policy
Presence of older software engineers means you don't have to get into management to keep growing
Freedom to do what you think is best

    Cons

Margins in the market space are not big, tough to get to big profits
Management sets unrealistic goals to get more out of people, but not reaching goals can be frustrating
Freedom can mean your work is not always noticed, and that can make you feel it's not appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Lead confidently, don't panic. In case of panic, don't pass that on to the people below you.
Set your employees up for success, don't try to squeeze extra out of them and leave them feeling like they didn't reach their goals.

I have been working at RichRelevance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work we do everyday is seen by millions of people on our customers sites. It is great to work with so many companies that are household names.

There is a lot of autonomy in your daily work. Taking things and running with them is the standard.

Plenty of leadership opportunities if you are willing to take on the responsibilities

    Cons

The company has grown quite a bit in the last two years, but internal processes remain immature.

Very heavy focus on sales and financial targets seem to outweigh any other metrics or performance indicators.

    Advice to Management

Focus on science and engineering, keep innovating and pushing the technology (if you build it, they will come).

I have been working at RichRelevance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - new CEO Carl Theobald brings along a good strategy, good mindset
    - new employees join the company and the hires are good
    - new upbeat feeling and motivation
    - still one of the best (if the not the best) solution for personalization
    - excellent set of references
    - highly skilled employees that understand personalization
    - compassionate mindset, respect for employees

RichRelevance has gone through difficult times in the past 2 years, but emerges strong and better positioned under the new leadership. There have been internal promotions as well as outside hirings, both bringing the right people to positions with impact.

The company offers unusually good career options, supporting internal promotions, cross department and also giving people outside the US a perspective.

    Cons

This review would have looked very different one year ago. There has been much change and the workforce was down to the bare minimum. But the situation has improved, is stable and the company is set for growth.

Still, there are some areas for improvement:
    #1 - Hire more people
    #2 - Hire more people
    #3 - Focus on innovation
#4 - Showcase more of the good examples there are
#5 - Get a nicer office in SF

    Advice to Management

Continue set course, have higher expectations of your top executives, start building mission critical products and get the focus back on innovation. And hire the people necessary to accomplish the goals.

I have been working at RichRelevance full-time

    Pros

Company has some of the most amazing people across all departments
Very strong product offering, with big upside in the coming 2 years to become the de facto market lead
    Solid compensation plan
    Strong vision for the market

    Cons

Lots of change within a short period of time caused a much longer and tougher internal transition period than expected which caused quite a bit of negativity among employees (this has changed a lot for the bette recently)

    Advice to Management

You have all the right ingredients to make this a lasting and immensely succesful 100M+ company in the next 2-3 years. Stay focused and help your employees execute against the vision.

I have been working at RichRelevance full-time

    Pros

The people working at RR are great. Always their to help, no politics and a great attitude to work hard and get things done. The Management is open minded and trying hard to get the company back on track after some decisions in the past that worked out not to well looking backwards.

    Cons

After 10 years start-up mentality the company is forced to grow up. Great products, focused vision on retail only with already great customer portfolio that need good people to make that transformation happen. 2016 will be a true turning point for the company.
