I worked at Richard Allen full-time

    Pros

Uncapped salary like most sales jobs. As much one-on-one training as you need

    Cons

You are a door-to-door B2B salesperson. You are expected to see 50 businesses a day and sell them Verizon. If you are okay with being a pest to people and making, hopefully, one sale out of every 50 doors you see then go ahead. Oh and your week of training is unpaid. Revolving door position

    Advice to Management

Pay for training and make it more comprehensive and maybe people would not leave so often.

Reviewer, we are glad to see that you enjoyed the one on one training. We, too, agree that uncapped commission is a pro in sales and are proud that our team alone dictates their pay. The position is... More

I worked at Richard Allen full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great for those who love being outdoors, walking around all day, and spending their day socializing with prospective clients. Will hire people with little to no experience as long as they seem to be a personality fit. Advancement opportunity for those who truly excel in their role.

    Cons

In many cases they are asking you to sell a premium service to clients who are much more price oriented. The territories they send their sales people into are overworked. Many prospective clients either already have the service or have previously had the service and switched due to problems after installation. Job requires extensive car travel with no reimbursement of gas, tolls, mileage, parking fees, etc.

    Advice to Management

Let territories rest longer after a sales person has worked them, care more about clients beyond the point where there's no commission claw backs.

I have been working at Richard Allen full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My co-workers are fun and enthusiastic. I enjoy calling potential employees and offering them a fantastic opportunity to join our company. The people who invest themselves in the Account Manager position end up very successful. We are hyper-focused on results driven promotion and advancement. My current managers are both in their mid twenties and they started from the bottom. They were able to advance because they are driven individuals and now they have their very own office where they get to hire and train their own team. It's a pretty awesome promotion system. If you do well, you'll be rewarded! I'm new at the company, but all of the people I've come into contact with are super positive and upbeat individuals. If you have a background in customer service of any kind, check us out!

    Cons

I have (get) to dress up everyday, whereas in a lot of other customer service positions, you wear a uniform and don't care how you look. So not really a con i guess. Oh, and my commute is about 40-45 minutes every day, so I'd rather live closer, but what can you do?

    Cons

I cannot emphasize enough how horrible it is to work here. Management is horrible, you get no benefits, no vacation days and it's like working in a sweat shop. They make you work when there's a Nor'easter/ blizzard. Please if you can, do not work here.
