    I worked at Ricky's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's great if you find makeup and hair products fun and even better if you have prior knowledge it's awesome to help out customers and help them find what they're looking for or what they need. If your passionate about beauty then this place is for you.

    Cons

Management is a total mess. They fail to communicate well in a professional and respective manner. It's almost like they're in competition of who can be the most pettiest. It can at times be a toxic and demeaning environment. And some co workers just do anything they can to see you fail. There's no wishing to see others succeed that mentality is missing from the establishment.

    Advice to Management

Hire qualified mature adults to handle your stores.

    I worked at Ricky's part-time

    Pros

Being around and working with hair products and makeup. the 40% discount is also pretty great.

    Cons

Where do I begin. Management at my store is horrendous. Too much drama, store associates and store managers sleeping with each other. There is no work life balance because we don't know when we work for the next week until Friday or Saturday. Requested days off are almost never given to you. No direction in the store. A lot of gossip and childishness. No advancement opportunity if you aren't the manager's favorite person.

    Advice to Management

Employee recognition needs to be a thing. Treat your associates like an asset, not a liability.

    I worked at Ricky's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You barely do anything. Working at Ricky's is basically like hanging out. This may be a Pro for some, but its a Con for those of us who like to keep busy and don't want to go to work to stand around and just chat with coworkers.

    Cons

BAD communication between managers and employees. Managers don't know how to lead and are more focused on being everyone's friend. Usually at retail locations, once you come in for your shift you are briefed on the day and given a task to do. Not at Ricky's, managers don't give any tasks and your bored until a customer walks in and needs some help.
Managers also sneak away to use their phones, as if they are still in high school.

The store is very slow and the employees are half- assed (including the managers). I was looked at strangely/suspiciously because I would try to find something to do during the extremely slow times instead of being like all the other coworkers who would just stand around and chat. Management was not used to having hard workers and it showed.

-Breaks are 30 minutes for all shifts 7 hours or more.

-pay was $9 an hour for seasonal employees. There's no direct deposit so you have to pick up your check every two weeks.

Honestly one of my worst job experiences. Left after 2 weeks. The management was also very petty and unprofessional when it came to my departure. I told them when it would be last week and the next day after telling them, I couldn't make it to my shift (more important priority came up) and was told that I don't need to come in for the rest of the week.

Don't apply unless you like standing around doing nothing for 8 hours and want a super easy job.
