I worked at Ripley Entertainment part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The fact is, this is a fun place to work. You get to meet people from all over the world, and sell tickets to some super fun attractions. During certain times of the year pay can be good because of commission. My coworkers were fantastic and I loved them all, which made the behind the scenes interactions pretty fun too.

    Cons

The pay is horrible. It's disrespectful honestly. I took it as an insult the entire time I worked there. Minimum wage in Florida is not a living wage, and you must pay a living wage when more than half of your employees are grown adults with children to support and lives to live. At my location they were making an effort to hire more teenagers, but teenagers can only work so little shifts. This is really only a good job...

    Advice to Management

Please consider raising the pay for your employees, or at the very least be consistent and TRANSPARENT about the way commission is calculated in their sales. It is so sad that we are the first point of contact for tourists coming from all around the globe, and we are paid the same as a cashier in a grocery store, and sometimes even worse than that.

I worked at Ripley Entertainment part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Meeting people from all across the globe

    Cons

If you are not kissing managements butt, you are a nobody. You will never get a raise and it's only part time. I worked for Ripley's over 3 years and got a quarter raise the whole time. You get minimum wage and by the time minimum wage went up in 2019 I would have been making more than what they would have offered or think you are worth. To much favoritism, allowing family to work at same location is not a good idea....

    Advice to Management

Stop favoritism, start giving raises to the ones who deserve it, especially the ones who have been there years and go above and beyond. Stop hiring all family members, it makes the work place a very uncomfortable place to work. It was a much better place to work until so many family members started working together. Start noticing the ones who bring a lot to the table and treat them right, not just the ones you hear the...

I worked at Ripley Entertainment part-time for less than a year

    Pros

It was a fun place to work if you had someone else working with you. Making wax hands was and interesting but fun job. Being able to see weird artifacts.

    Cons

Management sucks! They are rude! Not willing to work with your schedule. Boring. If management doesn’t like you they will find a way to get rid of you. They say one thing and don’t do it. Your alone most of the time. They like to throw the boss card every chance they get.

    Advice to Management

Y’all suck and can get a life.

I worked at Ripley Entertainment full-time

    Pros

$ 9 dollars an hour starting pay is pretty good as a shuttle driver Some of the best reason's to work for the Red Train's of Saint Augustine would be its relatively fun job, you get to interact with tourist frequently whether youre a shuttle driver (transporting visitors to hotels) or train driver( giving guest a tour of our oldest city) or "welcome" which the train's HQ where you greet guest at the beginning of their...

    Cons

Some of the downsides would be unhealthy competition. There is a certain delineation between the Red train driver's. Those who have retired and are filling their time in a fun way, those who are attending school or just interested in the city's rich history . And those who this job is the best thing that ever happen to them, and these are the people that make the work place uncomfortable for their highly competitive...
