I have been working at Rite Aid part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team, relaxed environment at times, not too difficult of a job.

    Cons

Lots of pressure to get customers to get their flu shots, short-staffed in the pharmacy which increases workload and at times decreases efficiency.

I worked at Rite Aid full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company Car / Cellphone / Gas Card / Credit Card /6 Days PTO / Paid Vacation

    Cons

No room for growth. Management won't step aside to let people advance. My manager has been in the same position for 25 years and he feels he can do another 25 more years!
Pay inequality if your brown or dark skinned.

    Advice to Management

Step aside let people advance their careers. Stop living above your means!

I worked at Rite Aid full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy job handling cash, counting drawers, auditing safes, making deposits, setting up planograms.

    Cons

Not a lot of compensation for that amount of responsibility. Although not an entry level position, you are still privy to having your hours cut back. A stepping stone job for sure.

    Advice to Management

Make better training available to the dedicated employees who want to advance, compensate more fairly.

I have been working at Rite Aid full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As a manager you are always incouraged to go above and beyond to keep customers happy! I never worry about not being able to make things right for customers, because as stated above you can pretty much do whatever it takes!

    Cons

There are no raises. Corporate comes up with crazy time limits on how long it should take to accomplish tasks. It's always unrealistic.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to who actually gets stuff done!!

I have been working at Rite Aid full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, minimal commute, district management will let you run your store in peace as long as you're making your budget.

    Cons

Severely limited payroll budget, hours monitored very closely, missing plan will result in phone calls, e-mails, and text messages on your day off.

    Advice to Management

Hard to provide an outstanding customer experience when only one or two people at any given time are trying to run the operation. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

    Pros

Coworkers make the work enjoyable. Great place for recent high school grads to get a start in the workplace

    Cons

Pay is not great and management is terrible with communication. High expectations.

    Advice to Management

Hire competent employees/managers and stop expecting one person to do the job of two or three people.

I have been working at Rite Aid full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have a great computer system. Most employees in the pharmacy have a very positive attitude. Many pharmacies have a private consult room.

    Cons

It's very difficult to take vacation. Understaffed for pharmacists. Deny vacation and black out half the year even a full year in advance. Sometimes won't let you even switch days with your partner bc they want you to both be available in case they need you somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

They need to focus on their employees' quality of life more. Work with us to help us work closer to home. Approve our vacation days if we have it covered and we have the hours.
