I have been working at Rite Aid full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As many hours as you want and need. It's a close knit family. Great place to work.

    Cons

Poor knowledge of Human resources and staffing. Inappropriate initiative to training. Poor access to training materials for pharmacy.

    Advice to Management

New hires and those on the bottom need to know who to contact about questions. Assistant manager and store manager should never overlap after training. Pay your employees based on satisfied customer counts. That is the only metric that matters.

I have been working at Rite Aid full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really all depends on who runs the store.
My boss try's to rotate weekends and holidays so you have some off. She's fair with vacations. Coworkers have become family. Benefits aren't terrible. Flexible scheduling.

    Cons

Our store doesn't have an assistant manager so we all split tasks. Corporate is very pushy. Raises are only 1%-2%. Communication is email based- not eco friendly at all with stacks of emails to remember how to go about tasks. Not a lot of communication between front end and rx, which creates problems with ordering, on hand counts and shared responsibilities. CBT training is very policy based and not enough hands on. Not enough labor hours to staff properly. High turnover of employees. Register application is very buggy and out dated.

    Advice to Management

Create a better course to train people- training payroll hours.
Destination to revisit and update on store procedures and communication based on district and region.
    Rewards for work performance.
Force store managers and rx managers to communicate with each other- through weekly meetings etc.
    Revamp POS register application.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together. Ask workers for feedback and use them for help. They know more than you think
