    Pros

Decent work environment, depending on the store.
Room to move up if you make yourself worthy and the district manager likes you.
    Flexible hours.

    Cons

Management can be very, very poor.
Some stores don't have safety or theft prevention as a priority.
Very poor pay if you're not the head pharmacist.
Hours are not consistent, each work week can be erratically different from the last.
    Management plays favorites.

    Advice to Management

Be more consistent with communication and recognize talent at the cashier level.

I have been working at Rite Aid part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I find it hard to think about any pros for this company. The staff I worked with was really friendly and understanding. I made a lot of friends over there. It was a good working environment, but I guess that depends on what store you are put in.

    Cons

Training- if you are a technician you will be expected to learn everything with minimal training. The company expects you to just learn everything by yourself.
Demands- Technician are required to fill scripts, count the drug, cash customers out, answer the phone, and maybe find time to be really nice to the customers ?
Upper Management- Corporate is probably the reason I hate this company the most, they focus on the micro-details and their ideas are completely unrealistic. They cut hours, and overwork their employees and demand better customer experience. The management has it all wrong.
PAY RATE- One of the worst companies to work for if you are actually looking to get paid above minimum wage. A 17 cent increase per year won't cut it to anyone as the cost of living rises much higher than that. Technicians do not get paid well at all, even though their work is very demanding.

    Advice to Management

Start looking after your employees more. Start addressing their concerns and pay them a livable wage.

I have been working at Rite Aid full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At least I am working, and enjoy most of the people I work with.

    Cons

Low pay, poor chance for advancement, feel like upper management does not care, high turnover rate, feel expendable, no credit given for going above and beyond job expectations, and poor work life balance.

    Advice to Management

It doesn’t matter what you say, they will not listen or even care.

    Pros

Had a wonderful supervising pharmacist. Most fellow employees were a delight to work with. Schedule was fairly flexible.

    Cons

Pay scale was very low for the amount of work and responsibility required. Was required to go through the Rite Aid certification course and test even though I had been nationally certified for 5 years. Upper management had no clue what it was like to work in the store.

    Advice to Management

Require district managers to actually work in the pharmacy for 2-3 years before being in a management position.
