I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great structure, benefits, and culture. Encouraged growth for internal ladies and gentlemen.

    Cons

Emphasizing internal growth may lead to favoritism on the property level and lack of new ideas

I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The travel and health benefits were great. Hotel provides complimentary lunches. Ability to create memories for guests & ensure their satisfaction. Meeting people from all over the world. Diverse company with over 200 different nationalities.

    Cons

Far too many "managers" within each department that do not hold the same values & standards. Employees hard work goes unnoticed & you get a "first class" piece of paper for creating memorable experiences & guests for life, while the company sits on millions and Front Desk Agents get paid a measly $13/hr. Far too quick of management turn over and company does not promote within but rather hires from the outside. Employees are overworked and unappreciated. Tenure and dedication to the company does not matter once you make a mistake in the system, you are let go. As a courtesy you're given a choice to quit or be fired. How thoughtful.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Can make great connections with ladies and gentleman and guests. Options to grow in the company but they come at a steep personal sacrifice.

    Cons

Inconsistent values of management between properties and placing property owners priorities over own company values. Working round the clock during season to barely having a single shift in the off season as a line level employee. As a manager be prepared to work 70 hour weeks

    Advice to Management

Stand up to owners more when it comes to standing behind your employees for their pay and the upkeep of your properties
