    Pros

If your career doesn't flourish here, then its you're own lack of motivation

    Cons

Can't think of any cons. This company has been very good to me. Perhaps raises based on merit instead of "cost of living" increases would be nice

    I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None whatsoever. While the service industry in general sucks, the Ritz Carlton/Marriott sucks even more. Stay as far away as you can from this industry and company. You would be better off flipping burgers at McDonalds.

    Cons

Long irregular hours, low pay, nasty and demanding supervisors, back stabbing co-workers who get rewarded by management for being rats/snitches, no personal life, health care plan is terrible-it's like having no health coverage at all. Incredible turnover rate-if you last more than 6 months it's a miracle. And those are the positives of this company.

    Advice to Management

Why would anyone bother giving advice to management?-they wouldn't listen anyway. All they care about is profits and absolutely nothing else.

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You work with some good ppl. You do get a discount but rarely have enough time off to use it.

    Cons

They do not care about their employees as they say they do. The employee promise is just a facade as much of the Ritz Carlton mystique is.

So much drama and politics. You either know someone, you play the game, or you're so far up your managers you know what that you can't tell where you begin and they end.

Gossip gossip gossip. Everyone talks about everyone, employees about employees and employees about guests.

Contradiction: at the front desk you have agents making different wages for the same job and they don't want you to discuss that. Then they go ahead and post the exact dollar amount each person sold in upgrades so anyone can do simple math and see exactly how much someone is making extra per month. Makes no sense and harbors bad competition instead of best practices but management only cares about hitting goals set by ppl who collect bonuses based on the hard work of everyone else.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites. If you write up one person for being late it should be a write up for everyone who is late.

Everyone should be required to clock in. Some ppl are up managements butt and put on an act so they don't have to do the same stuff as the rest of us.

Pay ppl fairly. We all talk. We know you're paying someone else more than us for the same job.

Hire enough ppl so everyone can have ample days off.

Overall this place is only good bc good ppl are work horses for ppl who suck.

    Pros

Great benefits specially room rate discount that you can use everywhere in the world staying at Marriott hotels including Ritz

    Cons

I can say that the staff has lack of well training and this department (training) should have better programs

    Advice to Management

Hire employees who have experience related to their job

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton (More than a year)

    Pros

    Hotel rooms discount through Marriott.

    Cons

Managers just there to get a paycheck. Company gold standard and employee promise is a sad joke among employees.

    Advice to Management

Take a real look at the reasons for high turn over in your hotel. I'll give you a hint- your human resource dept. is not trusted by employees. They help managers retaliate against complaints that should be confidential.
