    I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time

    Pros

    -health benefits
    -decent start pay
    -able to move up
    -full time

    Cons

I worked for a Ritz Carlton in Florida. I was excited to start! But after a few weeks, I saw all the bs within the company. I was a housekeeping aide. I worked along with the housekeepers. I am not racist but all housekeeping staff were all hispanic at the resort I worked at. I felt out of place because I was the only caucasian male in housekeeping. They would speak in spanish most of the time and I felt that they were talking bad about me. I tried my best to assist them. But between assisting guests by bringing them extra shampoo or making the air mattress bed for them, I also needed to assist the housekeepers. I also needed to bring up clean linen and stock my assigned floors. I tried my best but this job made my anxiety so much worse. I would feel dizzy and nauseous and like I couldn't escape. We were always busy and the demands were physcially exhausting.

They are very strict at this company with dress code and facial hair. I had a little stubble because I forgot to shave one morning and the manager for the hotel was walking passed me and said I have to shave it now. I was on my lunch break and speak 20 minutes shaving my stubble off my face with that cheap razor they provide guests.

I told management from the begining that I had health issues they were not willing to work with me. Shortly after I just walked out midshift. I went home crying and felt bad that I had just abandonned my job. But my axniety was so bad I just could't take it anymore.

    Advice to Management

Work with your employees and realize that they have a life outside of their job. Don't expect me to work overtime without giving me that option first. You should always ask employees if they are willing to stay a little later.

Be more modernized. The furniture in the rooms is outdated. You can still keep it "Ritz Carlton" without changing the company's brand. I just think it could be more modernized.
