    Pros

Wonderful teammates, great benefits, good salary.

    Cons

Expected to make more with less staffing.

    Advice to Management

high volume with high expectation of engagement performance. Hire more managers and line employees to give the service we truly strive to give. Not enough career advancement opportunities. Management can have an "us versus them" mentality rather than inclusiveness.

    I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

it was a great company with great people and perks. Food was great, support was always there and it was fun working with the people that they brought it.

    Cons

Towards the end it was interesting as they were merging with the Marriott so I started to see it change. However people still love it there.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing, I had a great time working for the company and would go back if my path took e that way again.

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

*Good employee benefits (though compensation can be low)
    *Training opportunities

    Cons

    *Overworked, under compensated
*Likely property specific, but work environment is highly dysfunctional
    *Total lack of inter-departmental collaboration
*Cost saving measures have drastically reduced the size of teams; consequentially departments are stretched far too thin
*Company rests on the cache of the company name, but fails to deliver to guests or take care of their Ladies and Gentlemen

    Advice to Management

The Executive Leaders on property are creating deep, hostile departmental divides. Executive Management needs to learn to collaborate.

    I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) Pretty place in which to work. 2) Good perks when traveling and staying at other Ritz properties. 3) They feed employees. 4) It looks good on a resume. 5) Great opportunities to be promoted and move up or on to other properties if one so desires.

    Cons

    1) Poor management: Iago-esque middle managers and obtuse upper management. 2) Questionable behavior by employees on the job. 3) Management has a poor grasp of what constitutes a hostile work environment. 4) Really poor shift scheduling. 5) An air of union busting.

    Advice to Management

Mandatory refresher courses on sensitivity training. Schedule worker's shifts to avoid burnout. Teach employees how to properly do their jobs (not just drill the "Ritz culture" into their heads.) Stop falling back on the Ritz "Golden Standards."
