    Pros

I started in November 2015 at their Beach Club and I absolutely love it. The server that started in my same orientation is now my supervisor. Lots of opportunity for growth. Great money if you build good relationship with the club members, tier residents and hotel guests. Fun and professional but family-like work environment. If you get in a bind employees from other departments help out.

    Cons

Working rotating weekends and holidays but the positive side to that is the money I earn during those busy times of the year.

    I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to work with industry leaders. Learn five-star customer service skills that translate to any industry. Excellent training and environment that insists on and instills quality.

    Cons

Most positions may require working nights, weekends, and holidays.
To move up within the company (as is true for most hotels), candidates must be able to relocate.

    Advice to Management

Understand that profit is a motive, but remember to keep focus on meeting and exceeding guest expectations.

I worked at Ritz-Carlton (More than a year)

    Pros

Money, money, money. This place is run on money and the ONLY REASON to be here is to make it.

    Cons

Terrible managment. If it werent for said money these people with their butt on their own lips would have to do the work. Unfortunately this company teaches to have a first person resolution completely taking any commitment away from managers.

    Advice to Management

Learn to do work, dont just use empowerment as an excuse to have the lower in rank handle a situation.

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working in a professional and positive environment. Great benefits and team leaders. Lateral service is always encouraged and available for those who want it. It really is, overall, an amazing company to work for.

Being a hostess is a ton of fun. You are encouraged to engage with guests and you can have some great conversations.

    Cons

The only downside is also a perk, long hours. They expect dedication from each and every employee and if you deliver you will always receive appreciation.

As a hostess you are always standing so wear comfortable shoes. It is an easy, but stressful position. You have to maintain the happiness of our guests and our coworkers.

    Advice to Management

Always use moral judgement. When in doubt, get advice from another coworker in management. Also, always communicate with your employees. Try to have as many one-on-one's as possible and always maintain some relationship with your employees.

    I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great co-workers, great hotel discounts, good work environment, good for the resume, decent money making potential, 401k, company match program

    Cons

very seasonal, feast or famine, I worked on the beach and you made a ton of money in season and pretty much starved out of season. Will not work with you to get a second job in off-season.

    Advice to Management

try to stay out of so many meetings and being too busy with office work and get involved with the team. Management means manage, not hide in the office doing paperwork all day!
