I have been working at Ritz Charles part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast pace, constantly changing environment. You learn lots of new skills that can be applied in all areas of food service.

    Cons

Takes up most weekends and evenings.

    Advice to Management

Better training programs for new employees, follow up with training in current employees.

I have been working at Ritz Charles part-time

    Pros

Nice co-workers, easy serving, high entry level pay ($12-15)

    Cons

    Really really unorganized scheduling system

    Advice to Management

Have a better scheduling system, instead of one where we have to email the manager about availability every week.

I worked at Ritz Charles as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The VPs of the company are super involved and always around to help out, which makes the company culture more inviting. All the regular employees are so friendly and helpful and the management plans staff events throughout the year to boost morale. The facilities are gorgeous and they maintain a great reputation in the Indianapolis area for consistently putting on exceptional events.

    Cons

The majority of the internship was spent as waitstaff instead of gaining the managerial experience that most interns are looking for. The hours were pretty inconsistent as well.

    Pros

Ritz Charles is a great place to start if you are looking to get into the event/sales industry. Being an admin under their sales staff has helped me learn about billing, forecasts, using their event/catering programs and especially planning events. The employees are very nice and helpful. There are lot of servers/bartenders and other staff that come and go but the office staff and managers all share a close bond.

    Cons

No benefits or paid holidays when your hourly

I worked at Ritz Charles (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very laid back atmosphere behind the scenes. Kitchen staff is very friendly and willing to help in a sink or swim job.
They have an excellent set of procedures when it comes to services they provide clients in a consistent manner. Good place for high school and college kids to work.

    Cons

Training is learned on the job. With a constant turnover, it's common for someone on their 2nd or 3rd shift to be showing someone on their 1st shift what where and how.
Bad politics among the higher ups. Not much respect from the servers for management.

    Advice to Management

People matter. Mutual respect goes a long ways. Impliment and enforce drug testing.

    Pros

The pay was great for the job. I was a food server for different events around the Indianapolis area. I worked solely off site of the Ritz-Charles location

    Cons

The turnover rate is extremely high, mostly because it was a lot of high school and college students employed at the time

    Advice to Management

Management was great, I was very pleased with everyone I had dealt with or had interactions with during my time there

    Pros

You get anywhere from 8 to 10 dollars a hour and if you are a bartender then you receive tips on top of that. You also get a free meal with every shift.

    Cons

It's a good job to have while in school but doesn't have the salary or amount of hours to be able to live off of. You hours fluctuate A LOT depending on the season.

    Advice to Management

Really good management aside from the owner of the Ritz Charles. Managers are promoted from within the company and are great people.
