    Cons

the casino business is a 365 day operation, it does require that you work holiday's and weekends and sometimes, outside your availability. But with this being the only downfall, can't go wrong.

I worked at River City Casino full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, friendly people, advancement opportunities, learning opportunities, dependent on the shift you work some times are busier than others, good hours, free food and good health care.

    Cons

Some policies are bad, a lot of favoritism that goes on, management isn't the greatest, in some cases advancement is near impossible unless you know the right people, no life outside of work this is more a place to work for single people not a family person due to the hours and schedule, and be leery of the fake and phony people.

I have been working at River City Casino part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This company listens to the employees and tries to do its best to cater to them. I would recommend you to work here. They are good at promoting within. If you work three months successfully, you are able to transfer. No longer have the point system! They help the community and allow team members to participate. Encourages team members to give to those who are less fortunate! Great team!!

    Cons

Long night shifts when you begin, parking at night, no longer have shuttles

    Advice to Management

Stay true to your word! Seek out employees whom are doing great and tell them that they are doing an awesome job!

    Pros

    Free Meal during shift
It is a job that pays bills

    Cons

Free food is worth every penny. I got food poisoning 2 times in 5 years. Once is enough!

FT work dropped to PT due to lack of business.

Lost FT Benefits and PT Benefits did not match the ACA and the cost were more than FT

Management is not qualified for their jobs.

The Chefs are reckless with food handling a safety. When questioned by employees the management become hostile and begins HR supported harassment.

The Parent Company reserves the right to change the rules in the middle of the game, and does it often.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees. They are right more often than not.

I worked at River City Casino full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement, diverse hospitality and entertainment experience. Easy place to work if you can follow the rules and complete the tasks assigned without variation.

    Cons

Low pay, management does not empower the employees. They say empower the employees l, however, that is just an appearance. That's the biggest takeaway I've had from the casino. All they care about is appearances.

    Advice to Management

Rethink your approach, stop being predictable, stop faking it for appearances, hire from within and truly empower your employees.
