I worked at Riverside Community Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

EXCELLENT benefits available. Good food served in cafeteria. A large number of volunteers helping.

    Cons

Employees have a cut-throat attitude due to being micro-managed, additional duties and responsibilities, and lack of respect from management. This hospital is extremely top-heavy with Managers and Senior Management employees. You have to be accepted by certain employees to survive...there are very click-ie groups composed of employees protected by management.

    Advice to Management

The secured feeling of being employed and having a future with RCH has disappeared. Employees are being micro-managed and causing too much stress in many departments.

    Pros

Pay, free medical. Union representatives that try to fight for us.

    Cons

Everything else, especially staffing. Forced to work 3 12+ hour shifts in a row on weekends.

    Advice to Management

What good is that employment engagement survey if we still continue to be understaffed. Nothing every gets done and changed anyway.

I worked at Riverside Community Hospital (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great social work team, great benefits

    Cons

Staffing is always a problem so caseloads are high and patients need a great number of things so you have no time to do whatever you can...but never enough.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on giving all the departments the staffing they need and all the scores you are worried about will go up.
