Upper management has lost touch with their employees at least in my location.

    Pros

currently there are no pro's for this company.

    Cons

They need to be consistent in their applying of policies. They tell employees that they are expected to work weekends but if you don't work M-F they deduct pay and short you on vacation pay when you leave.

    Advice to Management

Re-think how you are treating your employees- allow for back office and other staff on contract to have a work life balance.

I have been working at Riverside Research Institute full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits and friendly feel of a small not for profit business. The employee education benefit is amazing and they just introduced a gym membership reimbursement plan.

    Cons

Some isolation based on the fact that most of the work effort required at customer sites. No real negatives to speak of beyond that.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work hard at uniting the Riverside workforce. Provide the support needed for employees to be successful at the customer sites without being too invasive. Great job so far!

I worked at Riverside Research Institute full-time

    Pros

Outstanding people dedicated to the success of the customer.
Long term commitment to the customer and the customer's mission.
Very nice facilities and good strong mid level management team in place.

    Cons

Total lack of senior management engagement and knowledge of customer base and employees.
    Rapidly eroding benefits and salaries.
Unexplained shift in focus from current customer base and traditional values to short term, high margin efforts.

    Advice to Management

President and Board of Trustees should focus on current customer base and get to know workforce before dismantling a culture and strategy that has worked for nearly 50 years.

I have been working at Riverside Research Institute full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Greatest work experience I've been exposed to. Wonderful management team has their employee's best interest at heart.

    - Superb Pay
    - Fantastic Benefits
    - Helped me achieve my graduate degree - considerable tuition paid
    - Bonuses for hard work and achievements is some of the best recognition one can get.

    Cons

    - Transitioning into a higher paid position with a title to follow may not be achievable to most. Big stress on "may not". I'm just trying to find something relevant to the Cons box, currently this isn't a big deal to me.

    Advice to Management
