I worked at Riviera Country Club full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Management are in general very good and they have great health insurance.
The work atmospher is friendly as well as your co-workers.

    Cons

Nothing really. I enjoyed very much to work here, but the pay is not that great.

    Advice to Management

To adjust pay to performance,. Do not make pay increase by consumer index. It just makes the payment gap between employees wider.

    Pros

Good Pay when you get out on the grass. Nice Course.

    Cons

Bad Management, Too many rules for new caddies, unfair treatment, crappy facility

    Advice to Management

With a country club with so much money at least give your caddies a decent place to hang out at with enough chairs for everyone to sit

    Pros

The pay is *competitive*, which means that its not less than other similar clubs, but nor is it higher considering the club's recognition as one of the most prestigious clubs in the country. In fact Sherwood is known to be the best paying club in the region. In addition to the pay there you get the opportunity to play a championship course, be a part of a PGA event, and membership is a who's who of the Hollywood elite.

    Cons

The club was bought out by a Japanese owner who makes 1 visit a year, and because of this the higher ups work only to keep him happy and tend to ignore the best interests of the employees. All of the money and attention is given to the golf course, while the rest of the club suffers. Some parts of the club are hilariously outdated and due for renovation.

    Advice to Management

For a club that charges the highest member dues in southern CA the main clubhouse sure looks like cheap. Take a little away from the course and put some back into the rest of the facility.

I have been working at Riviera Country Club full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, PTO and insurance policies are very good, and you can meet very important people for future job opportunities.

    Cons

The members can be rude and management is unorganized at times, and work schedules are inconvenient. Little to no promotions.
