    Cons

get used to sourcing on the weekend.... ;)

I worked at Riviera Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great diverse team with a lot of fun events. A good place for flexible and self driven work. Gave the opportunity to meet industry elites and work broadly across the company. I really enjoyed working with the owners and recruiters directly.

    Cons

They fired me 3 days into a two week vacation by closing my accounts and contacting me vaguely via my personally email. The company laid off a whole swath of employees but didn't bother to contact me or inform me until I got back. I found this incredibly unprofessional for a company that specializes in recruiting.

While I worked there, the data science team outsourced too much of the work offshore and then required the in house data scientists to spend twice as much time fixing the code and models. This resulted in poor performance models and having to make up benchmarks to justify ourselves to management.

    Advice to Management

Outsourcing has cost you more than data science ever would have cost. Look into the efficacy of your products for yourselves.

    Pros

Great place to launch your career and really great culture; well known in tech recruiting.

    Cons

Pay is terrible and you will be easily taken advantage of, as an intern or non-partner.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being so greedy

    Pros

    - Unlimited PTO, if you can get over the guilt trips they give you when you use it.
    - Great place to start a career.

    Cons

    - Base pay is a joke
    - They recently started paying bonuses in Rivi stock options.
    - You have to use their internal ATS that is pretty weak.

I worked at Riviera Partners full-time

    Pros

If your an athlete, competitive, and like figuring things out on your own, this is the place for you. The people at Riviera are some of the best people I know, and a fun bunch of individuals. Everyone is there to answer questions and grab a drink after a rough day. Lots of room for growth if you drink the juice and put in the hard work.

    Cons

Their on-boarding process is extremely disorganized and lacks any real value. Compared to other startups, they do not put in any real effort to make you feel welcomed to the team (aside from some individuals). Coming in you are expected to be proactive and ask questions or you will not succeed. If you do not lean on team members or people close to you, the higher ups will not help. Also, it is a very bro culture. For women, if your not a strong female who was an athlete or grew up with a brother you will hate it. Lot's of politics at the top level, the executive team is stubborn. Change is often, turnover is high.

    Advice to Management

If you truly want to succeed as a company and retain top employees, you need to start taking the feedback from the people you want to invest in to heart. Also, learn from your past mistakes. Take some accountability in the unfavorable things people have said and done and not make excuses for them.

I worked at Riviera Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you like to party then this would be a good spot for you,

    Cons

If you weren't a white dude, you were a second-class citizen. Horrible place for women and anyone who wanted a life outside of the company. Super high turn over rate. I left around the same time as 15 others. Also, the pay is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Treat your recruiting team as well as you treat the engineers.
