I worked at Road Machinery full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Regular pay check, Medical Benefits okay, job itself ok, liked the people I worked with.
Mon-Fri Day job for the most part.

    Cons

Management is a continuing mess, high turn over, no true leadership. Lack of communication and miscommunication on a regular basis. Lack of employee training in many cases. No raises, reviews must sit on someone's desk because they are never delivered to employees.
Upper management has no clue on day to day business, they are only looking at the daily numbers.

    Advice to Management

Bring in some true leadership, Communicate, listen to your employees, they have great ideas.
Recognition and training, building strong employees and true team work would go a long ways in trying to keep this company solvent.

    Pros

There some good people there but they are quickly turned by management and the pros they had in people they let go or demoted them

    Cons

This is the worst I've ever seen. I mean look at reviews. Not just disgruntled employees. Great people have been fired or let go for lack of mismanaging. And upper management gets rid of great employees that are a threat to HR .. 2-3 presidents in 5 years , VPs gone, hire and re hire positions , complete turn over and firings. Be very very wary

HR is the worst I've ever seen. Culture is very very uncomfortable people and starts with HR

    Advice to Management

They need to close the doors or start over with all
New staff that takes pride and values it's people

I worked at Road Machinery full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy to get hired through nepotism.

    Cons

Worked for 4 years with only one performance appraisal. Worked many nights, weekends and holidays for free (salaried position), including one 36 hour day.

    Advice to Management

Try to stay in your position for more than 2 years. Good luck!

I worked at Road Machinery full-time

    Pros

Pay regular and mild benefits package.

    Cons

No upper management support. Off shore parent company culture collides with employees. No matter how many hours you may put in it's never enough. If you are looking for a seven day work week including holidays then this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Sell the dealership off and leave. You have no business operating here with your negative business model. You have turned over all the great talent . The leaders you seek will not afford their time for you to waste.

    Pros

Steady paycheck, great brands. Many loyal customers, good vendor partners, until a few months ago the company seemed to be making very nice progress.

    Cons

Lack of continuity at executive level, foreign owners think of themselves as superior to Americans. Disgusting.

    Advice to Management

Get and keep good leaders, stop chasing them away.

I have been working at Road Machinery full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you need a job and a place to work in between jobs this is the place for you. Payroll checks are always on time and the money is good. Employees are friendly and nice.

    Cons

NO COMMUNICATION!!!!!! Management is a joke and only have there best instrest in mind not the employees. No regrads for employees with familys or kids. Only time company policies are in forced is when it is in management's best interest. Fedral cdl laws are overlooked and swept under the rug. As long as it can look good on paper thats all that matters to them.

    Advice to Management

Fire all management and stop putting people into positions just because they know someone. Hire and place people into positions that are qualified for the jobs.
