I worked at Roanoke College part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing people and environment. The full time staff want to teach the students a lot. The office is a lot of fun to work in and everyone is very understanding that we have coursework along side our hours working at the office.

    Cons

The pay is low (approximately $7.25-$8.25/hr)

I have been working at Roanoke College part-time

    Pros

Good paying relative to other jobs on campus
Office is more organized than others
    Opportunities for leadership
    Good on resume

    Cons

Office politics can be a huge pain and are more vicious than in other spots
Most other RAs are simply not that good at their job and are all style no substance

    Advice to Management

Hire RAs who are more involved, rather than targeting people with empty schedules. Those folks have empty schedules b/c they don't really have a passion.

This is a great place to work. Fantastic 401k, paid time off and sick time. The staff is awesome and the turnover is very low. A sign that people come here to stay for a career.

    Cons

Health benefits are sub-par and the pay raises are very low.
