I worked at Robert Bosch Tool Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Robert Bosch Tool Corporation is a great company to work for. One aspect of the company that I admired was the associates and the diversity within the company. Also, the ability to grow and develop as an associate.

    Cons

I truly cannot say anything negative about this company.

    Pros

Good company for those trying to get jobs from us to europe

    Cons

Bosch power tools is only interested in retaining employees in milinneum age. Management actually had meetings to ask how they can retain them. Major discrimination against older employees. No one was in attendance that was older and they thought it didn't get out. Have teams to get rid of people. Pay bonuses 4 months after year end. Numbers are not shared. Percentages change. They find someone to blame. Got rid of older sales force. See a pattern?

    Advice to Management

Start caring about your North American employees. Stop trying to only reward the people who give you some kind of excuse and don't do their job just because they are milinneums. Stop blaming the older workforce.

    Pros

Work colleagues are intelligent, driven, and work well in teams. Everyone works for common goals and this is a credit to the senior leadership team. Working there is like getting an advanced degree in your subject matter and in management/leadership. Great opportunity to work with a large international company and with colleagues from all over the world.

    Cons

Like all large global companies with an international headquarter, NA does not lead all initiatives but there are still many opportunities to contribute on a global basis.

    Advice to Management

Keep on implementing great changes to advance the local culture.

I worked at Robert Bosch Tool Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    My team was great.
Opportunity to use my German language skills.
Company has a very rich history.
This would have been a dream job if I had a different manager.

    Cons

Lots of processes that aren't necessary and managers will not help you get people to respond to you!
Very political environment. Your manager is not looking out for your interests.
My manager was rather abusive to my team and me. I was yelled at because I was crying during my lunch - my father had passed away. I don't show emotion like that at work very often but come on! My father died!! (My manager was not German btw.)

    Advice to Management

I was raised by Germans. The problem is not German culture. I think Mt Prospect needs to be MORE German. The culture at Mt Prospect is very abusive and the abuse is permitted.

I have been working at Robert Bosch Tool Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

People are impressed with the name. Very laid back office wear and they provide all office supplies for you. Like a company should

    Cons

You work with a lot of older people who are very close minded to the new ways of the 21st century. There's a lot of opportunity where the company can grow. Hard as an intern because there's an end date for you and the US office is controlled by HQ in Germany which puts a headcount on employment. Don't expect to get hired.

    Advice to Management

Be open and try not to discourage your interns even on their first day. You'd be surprised that the things we're learning in school is actually far more advanced than what you do at Bosch.

    Pros

Good experience, and was exposed to a multi-faceted business like Bosch, with both internal and external customers.

    Cons

The office was pretty standard, and development practices seemed out of date or unorganized. Tasks were not well distributed, and organization of code was severely lacking.

    Advice to Management

Please encourage better coding and documentation practices. Near impossible to join a project mid-way through

    Pros

I was an intern for the Department of Facilities. I have never met an amazing group of people that greet each other and love being around everyone.

    Cons

The culture takes time to get used to as the company has strict values. But once you're used to it, you don't want to leave.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing well! Can't find better supervisors.
