I have been working at Robert Bosch Tool Corporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Here to pay the bills.

    Cons

One shift supervisor with a big head trying to tell other shifts what to do. Upper management not doing their job, but taking orders from this supervisor. Seems that what is good for one shift, somehow doesn't work for another shift. The rules and things we are supposed to go by is not applying to this shift because of the partiallality of upper management to this supervisor. His people get overtime, when others are told no overtime is allowed. Please wake up and dig deep into this problem in our plant. The biggest con in my book, and others, as well; is the lack of consistency in treating all shifts the same!

    Pros

Travel, stability and work life balance

    Cons

Bad pay master. Upward mobility is very tough. Unless you know someone in upper management or you’ve to be a YES Sir/Mam guy. The common excuse you will hear when you ask about promotion you’re not social. So social here means listen all the nonsense and keep smiling. Go for team lunches with your money. As there is no budget for team lunch or team building. Important point working with Europe team is tough. Bureaucracy is at its best here. You will find architects everywhere and managers who can’t write code. Yet they call themselves “Software Company” lol To top it up they apply processes of manufacturing to software development. So clearly the leadership doesn’t care about software development or they don’t know software development. Either way by far they are not a software development company. This is because IT is not their core business. This clearly reflects in the way the leadership team and the way promotion happens. If you’re a software developer you’re the least important person in the organization. Especially Digital Business. Please stay away from this group or team if you’re coming from a software company. If you’re a software developer they don’t know what career track is for you or career path is for you. They will ask you to come up with one. God knows what is the role of HR and manager is for. You will hear all rosy stories from the leadership team during town hall meetings. Unfortunately it stays right there. It’s all talk not walk the talk. They don’t mean what they say. Leadership team evades and gets defensive if you ask critical questions.

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement Company cellphone Decent benefits

    Cons

Bosch cannot he saved any longer. This is a dysfunctional family with 4 sisters feuding internally and the damage has been done. The four business units that make up Bosch make it incredibly hard to succeed if you are part of a shared service. Each unit only cares about their own bottom line. There is no semblance of a team. There is only individuals who want to be mommy and daddy’s favorite and they will claw and stab to get the spotlight. Even if that means still being the worst tool brand. This place is an extreme boys club with favoritism and an archaic system to promote. Most Group managers no longer have people to manage. Instead this place is full of people with over inflated titles and no value. There’s so many lifers that have been drinking the koolaid that will never be fired or leave, no matter how incompetent. This is truly one of the worst companies I’ve been apart of and I am ashamed to have stayed as long as I did. Everyone should be finding an exit strategy unless they are buddies with upper management.

    Pros

Pros don't exist but they love to tell you how great they are and how changes are coming. Changes?!?? Yeah cutting jobs and budgets but still expect 15% growth. Get real!

    Cons

Unrealistic goals Management blames their sales force vs upper management admitting they were wrong. Horrible pay Bonus structure is at a high school level pay grade. Develop and make products without advice from a well respected and senior sales force. So products are wrong!!! Reason why is they do not want to hear the truth. They can't handle the truth. I mean it. Dozen more cons but won't keep going.

I worked at Robert Bosch Tool Corporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Strong product, innovative at times, great quality, well known industry wide. Good coverage across distribution channels and a good warranty program compared with competition.

    Cons

Slow to build upon their own innovation. Marketing does not really understand the sales process for all targets of distribution. Not aggressive compared to key competitors. Field sales has been stripped of it's ability to counter competitive measures. Upper management is more concerned with making their individual bonus than growing the company and it's people. Benefits have been slashed with individual costs rising out of control compared to similar companies.
