I have been working at Robert Packer Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Management keeps you involved in decision making. Pay is commensurate with other similar businesses, benefits are great. Good environment to work.

    Cons

Can't think of any cons other than, when working at a hospital, patients are sick and sometimes pass. Very sad.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep employees involved with decision making and keep communication lines open.

I worked at Robert Packer Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Steady work, decent pay, chances for moving up

    Cons

    Can be political at times

    Advice to Management

Lifting employees up can make them work that much harder for you. Tearing them down will make them not care.

I have been working at Robert Packer Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Taking care of patients doing my job do help them

    Cons

Very very very understaffed management does not thank you for your hard work the new test you must take to get a job if you fail you do not get the job must wait one year to reapply if already employed if you fail won't get it I understand from in house it's not to be a pass or fail I figure if I need take test for job then my skills mean nothing to that hospital it's a down grade of my nursing career manager doesn't listen at all they worry about themselves nothing for patients and staff

    Advice to Management

Need start listening to workers get rid of the new test you have us take for new job start hiring not safe test you have to take is denying good workers no advancement for change

I have been working at Robert Packer Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are okay. People here are, for the mist part, freindly.

    Cons

No advancement. Jobs applied to seem to go to outside people. Pay raises are insignificant compared to insurance increases and pay scale is reviewed infrequently. In 5 years, my rate of pay increased less than $2 total.

    Advice to Management

Better pay rate for administrative staff. We may not be patient facing staff but we deal with patients and family members constantly. I feel we are underpaid and under valued. Also, when internal applicants apply they should get interviewed if they meet even minimum requirements. I've applied for dozens of jobs and only got two interviews.

I have been working at Robert Packer Hospital full-time

    Pros

EMR easy to document and understand. Salary/benefits/education

    Cons

Lack of appreciation by management and administration. Lack of teamwork among peers. Lack of communication/satisfaction with doctors.

    Advice to Management

Create a better environment for the nursing staff. Provide positive feedback, listen to staff regarding management and lack of leadership. Understand the reason that your RN's are leaving the facility is due to poor administration and lack of appreciation by management. The staff that works on the hospital units, feel undervalued by management.
