I have been working at Robertson's Ready Mix Concrete full-time

    Pros

Good hours when it's busy. BBQs once a month and donuts every Friday.

    Cons

Weather determines if you work or not. Usually get your schedule 4-6 hours before you go in. No family time or life outside of work.

I worked at Robertson's Ready Mix Concrete for less than a year

    Pros

Ready Mix Training and Class B License

    Cons

Low training wage & low regular wages. New drivers are lucky to get 40 hours usually less. If you quit before 2 years agreement you will be sued by Robertson's.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your Ready Mix drivers and pay them more money. Other ready mix competitors pay 21-25 per hour for regular Class B drivers. That's why your turn over rate with drivers is so high. Allow new hires ability to transfer plants instead of quitting your company and going somewhere else to make more money then maybe you wouldn't have to make them sign a 2 year training agreement and sue them after.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Robertson's Ready Mix Concrete full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot to learn if willing. Good for learning how to operate equipment then get out and find another company to work for before they decide to lay you off. Good health insurance. $90 a week for entire family. Match 8% 401k

    Cons

12 hour days. A lot of favoritism. Have to kiss a lot of butt if you want to move up. High Turnover rate

    Advice to Management

Give the new guys a chance. Everyone started somewhere. If you dont want to teach than pay more than $12 an hour. And no one with good experience wants $14 an hour to start.
