I have been working at Rochester General Hospital for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great group of nurses to work with. Get to save lives for a living.

    Cons

No support from management (manager, director, human resources). Just a warm body. No value placed on knowledge or experience. Sent home early a lot.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees. Treat them as humans, not warm bodies to abuse.

I have been working at Rochester General Hospital for more than 10 years

      Pros

Employees used to trust and care about each other.

      Cons

IT department lost and continue to lose good & talented people, current management doesn't see what they are doing.

      Advice to Management

Your current style of management (unfocused) and seemingly uncaring is not the way to go.

      Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Rochester General Hospital part-time

      Pros

Motivated, intelligent nurses, PAs, NPs, and physicians to work with. High patient volume, fast-paced work environment which keeps you busy. Good 401k benefits.

      Cons

The patient care technicians I worked with were not necessarily very motivated or hard working, which made working there difficult at times.

      Advice to Management

It seems as though it would be more beneficial to hire young, motivated professionals as patient care technicians with aspirations of higher education and learning so that they will have a greater passion for the job and therefore be more efficient and enthusiastic about what they are there to do.
