I have been working at Rocket Fuel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Excellent Technology and Amazing Platform

    Cons

Poor Leadership Decisions and HR Department (Especially EMEA)
Poor decisions taken during Sizmek migration - Not taking into account employee interests.

    Advice to Management

Remember rocketfuel was a company that took care of their employees especially from 2011 through 2014 - unfortunately the decisions after that has been completely from monetory interests for the leadership teams who have gained enough money from the sizmek deal. And now, we are being told of budget issues. - sick.

I have been working at Rocket Fuel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - good benefits
    - nice offices
    - relatively cutting edge (mostly) open source tech stack

    Cons

    - Below market wages
    - Static, hierarchical management structure unbefitting of modern tech company
    - Largely un-meritocratic, fixed schedule of raises/promotions
    - Gap between rhetoric regarding company values and actual daily life on the ground

    Advice to Management

    - Reassess balance of investment in core wages vs. pleasantries (meals, perks, offices, etc.).
    - Take time to connect personally with employees.

Thanks for the advice. Good idea around rebalancing wages / perks. Our recent crowdsourcing from employees surfaced this suggestion a few times. We will look into it more.

I have been working at Rocket Fuel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Never have I worked with people which makes a company feel like an overly large family. Of course there are politics, but nothing like the backstabbing nature I've experienced at other companies. As the company is growing, more programs are being put in place for learning and development and encourages everyone to take part (I must point out this is from a European standpoint). Everyone seems to "want" to be there and contribute which is a huge asset.

    Cons

Growing pains. The company is growing rapidly - although I've been there for 7 months, I no longer "know" everyone. Sometimes makes it difficult to work across the many departments

    Advice to Management

Continue developing training programs for personal development and further education. It helps people grow their careers and also helps to grow the company.

I have been working at Rocket Fuel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It has a fun and nerd-friendly atmosphere, senior management is really approachable, and there are unique perks to working at a start up that's performing really well.

    Cons

there are a few changes to cope with the rapid expansion, but i think those changes are necessary and for the better in the long term
