I have been working at Rockwell Automation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Majority of the people
    - Employee Resource Groups
    - Forced to be tough and think on your toes
    - Various company socials (several bars onsite)
    - Constantly being pushed to perform
    - Ability to work from home

    Cons

    - High stress environment
    - Folks thinking they have to back-stab to get ahead
    - Not being recognized appropriately enough or in the right manner
    - Poor work/life balance (unspoken rule: should always be available & often logged in)
    - Petty drama can take place and is annoying when there is so much to get done

    Advice to Management

Development is a key priority but it's a struggle to find time to develop outside of the day-to-day workload, so many get stuck trying to accomplish far too much and get burned out frequently. It's a real rat race, with everyone trying to keep their heads above water, while also avoiding any trouble along the way. It becomes a high-stress balancing act. Find ways to limit the quantity, so employees can focus on the quality, while also finding time to develop themselves adequately enough along the way.

I worked at Rockwell Automation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The pay was great.
The people were friendly and approachable.
The office was in a good location and had all the amenities a reasonable employee could ever want including food, a cafe and a gym.
    Workload was not constraining.

    Cons

I often found myself striving to fill time, or doing tasks that seemed like busy work that nobody ended up looking at.
People were friendly, however there was little to no contact with anyone off the clock.
Communication was not the most consistent, often found out about intern events and other memos by chance from other people rather than from management.
Very traditional corporate environment, works well for engineering but leaves room for improvement in terms of Advertising and Marketing. Seemed like there was an inordinate amount of steps between an idea and execution and that there were generally way more people involved than was necessary. A lot of inefficiency.
