I have been working at Rockwell Automation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The culture is great and your local office really is your family away from your family. The flexible schedule also helps a lot and as a sales person, you don't get micromanaged as long as you're making quota and doing your job!

    Cons

Career advancement is difficult because they still have somewhat of an "old boys club" mentality so you have to really be in the "in crowd" with the right guys.

    Advice to Management

When looking to fill opportunities within the organization, pull from a diverse group and maybe even get recommendations from managers you don't normally talk to. The only way to stay leading the market is to have a team of diverse people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

I have been working at Rockwell Automation as an intern

    Pros

Great experience and diversity of work

    Cons

Hiring process is horrible. Only way to get hired on in engineering out of college is to go through a training program where at the end of it they own you so kiss your family life goodbye

    Advice to Management

Offer more direct hire positions instead of "one size fits all"

Rockwell has good teams and exciting work. They have many opportunities for individuals when available, but tend to higher outside often. Flexible work schedule and good vacation policy.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and promote based off performance instead of time served or personal characteristics.
