I have been working at Rockwell Collins full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Awesome CEO, interesting work, flexible hours (great for families)

    Cons

Most Sr Engineering Managers don't know what they are doing causing the A class people to leave

    Advice to Management

Go back to your engineering job and let a real manager manage. Executives: Stop allowing the manager problem to continue. Hire real managers, quit promoting incompetent people, put the best people in the key positions. Retain your good employees. You've allowed most of the good people to leave, leaving you with the dregs--it will only hurt RC in the end.

    Pros

Large company can move throughout US and world.
    A lot of great people.
Union really fights for their people

    Cons

Highly centered around hiring white, republican, males.
Many departments have excessive nepotism, especially procurement, so if you don't play politics, it's hard to move up in the company.

    Advice to Management

We need more diversity in employees in the office environment.
Just because "it has always been done that way.." does not mean it should continue, sometimes drastic changes need to be made.
