I have been working at Rockwell Collins full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great Company, great co-workers, great work life balance! Everyone I interacted with was incredibly helpful and fun to work with. While working at Rockwell Collins I gained an incredible amount of SCM experience that would not have been possible at other companies. If offered I highly recommend taking the job.

    Cons

Not much emphasis on SCM college recruiting because ops has a low employee turnover rate.

I have been working at Rockwell Collins full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good people. Talented people. Smart people. Good work-life balance.

    Cons

    Tracking time is not fun.

    Advice to Management

Streamline time charging and tracking. I’m an engineer, not an accountant.

I worked at Rockwell Collins full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Interesting work, and great working with customers.

    Cons

Union position and union thuggery. Hands down, the worst place I've ever worked. No upward mobility. 1, 5, 10, 20 years, you will be doing the same job in the same position. No voice in union affairs or union representation unless you're drinking buddies with the local rep. Union dues are just another payroll deduction. HR doesn't listen to complaints, they only strip you of dignity, pride, and the ability to stand up for yourself. Work life balance? Expect to be on call, and the only one handling after hours and weekend problems due to union thuggery. The more years vested with the company, them more "untouchable" you become. Compensation is below industry average. The only caveat, the longer you're with the company; the more you get paid and the less actual work you're required to perform. No matter your experience, certifications, or qualification; expect to be treated lower than pond scum. As for top leadership, ignorance truly is bliss.
