    Pros

The only good reason to work for Rocky Brands is their product line. Besides that there is nothing good to say about "Rocky Brands".

    Cons

No internal support, lack of inventory when needed, inflexible and autocratic management style. Management does not respect their employees unless you are a brown nose, there is no communication within the organization, low employee morale inside as well as their sales force. This is a terrible company to work for. Don't waste your time until they change ALL upper management.

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs to get there head of the sand and start to listen to the expertise and knowledge of the senior employees within the company. Instead they choose to listen to managers/vps who 1) let their egos run the company 2) promote individuals who do not understand the business model and 3) are vindictive to those who do not agree with their philosophies

    Pros

The best reason to work for Rocky is if you really need a job.

    Cons

Rocky Brands/ Lehigh biggest downside of working for them is that they have 3 people that manage the Lehigh side of the business and have no regards for the people that helped to put them where they are at this time.

    Advice to Management

The lack of communication between Mike Brooks & Richard Simms is simply appauling. Mr. Books should once in awhile
take a true look at what goes on in the Lehigh side of the business. He should realize that Lehigh is where it is today because of the number one shoe vendor in the Unites States Iron Age had poor managment ,after a take over in 2004 that led to the Iron Age of 187 years to bankruptcy. Lehigh is doing exactly what IA did and soon they will be in the same situation as IA was. Many people feel that business for Lehigh will come to a quick halt as they continue to loose respect
for the industry and respect for their customers.
For Mr. Brooks he should see what Simms & his crew do.
The shoe business will never be what it was and Lehigh will certainly never replace Iron Age nor will they ever gain the respect that Iron Age had from their emplyees & customers.
Brookes your not running the show Simms is

    Pros

Medium size company with decent reputation and an apparent opportunity to move up with positive results.

    Cons

It's really a family owned company that hides that fact from potential employees, particularly in the Executive Suite. The reality is that it is run by some highly incompetent people who are poorly educated and trained. Often the have little or no experience outside of Rocky. They do not understand what they do not do well and simply refuse to listen. Within two years it became the worst professional experience of my entire 25 year career. Be careful....and check last names!!

    Advice to Management

Get some outside help with experience at world class companies and listen to what they have to say. Focus on quality and customer service. Two of the companies weak points.

I worked at Rocky Brands (More than 3 years)

    Pros

the benefits are decent and the vacation times are flexible.

    Cons

Upper management is a dictatorship. Upper management are not involved with any field sales, micro management and absolutely no quality of life balance. Expectations are unrealistic with product design and execution is poor at best. Quality control issues, and steady increase of pricing making goals exceedingly unrealistic to obtain.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging and source better products.
