I worked at Rocky Mountain Chocolate (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learning how to make the fudge, gourmet apples, and other treats was very fun. This was the most fun job I have ever had and I miss working here. The returning customers and most customers in general were always happy because they knew they were going to eat dessert soon.

    Cons

Very rare, but some customers were not so great. There used to be a crackhead that would come into the shop and beg for treats with pennies that she had pulled out of her bra, she wasn't as bad as this one lady though that swore she had bit into pecans instead of macadamia nuts and made a huge ordeal about it during a rush. Those events were rare though. Other than that, the only con I can think of is that the location I worked at only paid $9 an hour. Towards the end, they cut our hours and kept bringing on new people which made me find other employment.

    Advice to Management

Let people work 25-30hrs a week if they want to and don't try to cut their hours down to 15-20hrs a week if you don't need to.

    Pros

I work 10-15 hours per week as a keyholder/sales associate. Would be nice to be making more than min wage, but I love this place too much to seek out higher pay.

    Cons

See above. Everyone has more than one job, as none of us can get enough hours for it to be sustainable. Other than that it's an amazing job.

I have been working at Rocky Mountain Chocolate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

they had flexible hours, so it was a great job while going to school. Very fun environment, the staff is pretty easy going, and the customers are usually in a good mood.

    Cons

Like any job it became a little repetitive so at times it was boring. But if you have a fun manager and owner, you could use your extra time to invent a new treat!

    Advice to Management

Understand that your employees WANT to work there. and if you have loyal employees you should compensate them accordingly. think of it as an investment.

I worked at Rocky Mountain Chocolate part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great part-time job. Great product that I felt comfortable selling to people. Most customers were very friendly since we were selling them candy. Job paid above minimum wage with opportunities for bonuses.

    Cons

Wasn't much opportunity for growth, but I wasn't really expecting any as a part-time employee during college.

    Advice to Management

    Keep on keeping on.

    Pros

We have owner our chocolate factory for almost four years and were able to pay it off in two with the profits it has created. It is an easy business model and the franchisor allows a lot of freedoms.

    Cons

Getting fat from all the chocolate we eat!! No seriously, there are not many cons.

I worked at Rocky Mountain Chocolate part-time

    Pros

Awesome work atmosphere. Getting to know the merchandise is easy and it makes you confident with how you sell it. Overall a fun job!

    Cons

If situated at a busy location, lots of people can come into the store all at once. Since there usually isn't a lot of people staffed, you have to have to be calm to get through orders and questions.
