I have been working at Rocky Mountain Chocolate part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Simple tasks, staff is friendly, training is easy to grasp

    Cons

Management is messy, communication with management is disjointed, your opinions are not often taken into consideration

    Advice to Management

If you are a student at UNC Charlotte, this will be a simple part-time job that you can do and have fun while you do it. For others, a long-term chance for opportunities isn't the best of ideas and I recommend you look for a position somewhere the management style isn't so easy to erode.

    Pros

Great intro. to customer service, you get to sample sweets and making them can be pretty fun, at the place I worked they did give me all the days off that I asked for, and they were genuine nice employers

    Cons

The schedule came out late in the week, low pay, no room for improvement, they were very picky about everything, they had cameras watching you in case you would do something wrong, they were always changing things -they couldn't find a good system-, they were very upset when you couldn't fill in for someone, and if you made something wrong and the total was over $15.00 they took it out of your paycheck.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so paranoid, figure out a better system that works, send out work schedules earlier

I have been working at Rocky Mountain Chocolate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast pace work environment, working with chocolate, flexible schedule. The company itself is comprised of genuine and friendly people.

    Cons

Low wages, high work demands, no real opportunity for career growth, lack of timely support from corporate.

    Advice to Management

The left hand doesn't always know what the right hand is doing.
Need more brand exposure and don't rely so much on franchisees to do that work for them.
Don't be so reluctant to change, Innovate for goodness sake.

I worked at Rocky Mountain Chocolate part-time

    Pros

Free chocolate. And a pay check every other week.

    Cons

Extremely unorganized. Couldn't get a weekly schedule out by an appropriate day in advance. And when I would arrive for my shift, more than half the time no one knew what I was supposed to be working on that day.

    Pros

It was fun! People are happy when you sell them chocolate, and are generally very interested, and not very cranky. And when they are, it's ridiculous so you don't care, really.

    Cons

The managers and owners didn't actually know anything about the business. The night supervisor and myself and the girls, seemed to be the only ones who knew what was up.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating the franchises like crap.
