I have been working at Rodale full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Once was the most amazing company. A true dream job. I have loved every second of my career here: amazing people, benefits, time off, and work for the greater good of people and the Earth. It truly was utopia.

    Cons

Sadly, we were too late to the game digitally. Too much analysis/paralysis. Fell under the spell of top executives out for themselves rather than the good of the company. Bad business/personal projects/decisions led to the demise.

    Advice to Management

Advice to Hearst: don't turn your back on the people who have dedicated their lives to this company and love these brands. Rodale was not founded on just "business." As a long-time employee, I am saddened Emmaus will be non-existent shortly. Huge mistake: these are the people who truly care and will work harder than any new employees you can hire in NYC. We live and breathe these brands. Editorial, circulation, advertising, and marketing. Location means nothing. Passion means everything.

I have been working at Rodale full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This is a great place to work. The people are great. The flexibility and paid time off is leaps and bounds what you can expect at a different employer.

    Cons

People stay FOREVER so advancement can be challenging...but not impossible. But you need to be flexible and open to new opportunities to take advantage.

    Pros

Easy going , flexible hours, nice vacay time. They give you a lot of holidays off. Plenty opportunity's to go to company functions.

    Cons

Low salary. A lot of people think they are above or better than you. No opportunity for advancement. Poorly run, now for sale. It's a shame.

    Pros

Experience other people's weddings and be around fun people and music every weekend. Occasional out parties to get you outside and chance for tips

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Be nicer to your staff. Let them have a 15 minute break without clocking out. Do not treat them like dogs
