I have been working at Rodan + Fields part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Perks and incentives
    Technology when it's working

    Cons

To succeed you need to be on a team that supports your growth. There is a lot of unethical behavior that no one addresses so a dog eat dog culture has evolved. Consultants poach customers from other consultants. If you're a sorority girl personality and have no moral compass you will be successful. Lots of tech issues with websites, inconsistent customer support. They don't really give a crap about you unless you are in the upper levels of the organization.

    Advice to Management

Policies need to be put in place for Consultant ethical behavior. The current P & Ps have nothing in place to deter Consultants from stealing other Consultants PCs and converting to Consultants. There should be a way to be added to a team that will support your development if your upline abandons you. It does matter what team you're on so you get information from the home office.

I worked at Rodan + Fields full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent products but massively overpriced to ensure consultants and their downlines get paid. Consultants are very happy, but corporate is demoralized.

    Cons

Awful people - the few normal ones have the look of an abused spouse. Some very smart people are hired and then burn out quickly due to poor leadership giving contradicting direction.

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately senior management IS the problem. Middle management could be turned around - some good people trying to do the right thing but constantly spun in circles by leadership's unrealistic and constantly changing demands.

    Pros

Founded by world renowned Stanford Trained Dermatologists
Brand Recognition (created by the Drs who created ProActiv)
Global company - adding a new country every year!
Customers love the products - #1 Skincare company in North America
    Generous compensation, lots of recognition

    Cons

As a consultant, most of your paycheck comes from your customers in the beginning. Paycheck is limited if you don't find business partners to help your sales volume. That being said, if you do find business partners that take selling seriously, your paycheck is unlimited.

    Advice to Management

    None - Amazing Company

I have been working at Rodan + Fields full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been with R+F for about a year now and am very impressed with the organization.
    - Employees truly do care about the company and its vision
    - You feel like you're part of a family when you come to work
    - They are actively working on offering more employee opportunities for learning & personal development
    - Every day is different; there are lots of challenges that come with quick growth but the challenges are worth working through
    - The Consultants LOVE Home Office and when you meet them, you really feel like you've made a difference in someone's life
    - Great work life balance
    - Free product each month!

    Cons

    - The organization is still a little "Start up"-y for a company that is anything but a startup
    - Processes are not always clear/have not been built and it makes doing your job a lot harder than it needs to be sometimes
    - Doesn't have the "perks" of some major companies in the area (i.e. free gym membership, free meals, etc) but the environment makes up for it!

    Advice to Management

    - We love how much you care for our field and our customers. Don't forget how hard employees work to make it all happen. We deserve recognition, too!

I worked at Rodan + Fields full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are a lot of nice people that work at the company, and the social scene overall is pretty friendly outside of your own department. My pay was pretty good overall and the benefits were nice.

    Cons

On the most part, the hiring standards are pretty low and it is an environment that fosters blind company culture over creativity and innovation. In my experience, my manager had little to no experience in the field, previously being in the service industry, and never set expectations for the team. That person would also routinely blow up if these unsaid "expectations" were not met. It fosters an environment of neurosis and fear instead of open communication and productivity.

I was there for more than a year and never had a formal performance review or given the opportunity to give my feedback to upper level management.

This place will be out of business in 3 years.

    Advice to Management

Actually hold the department heads and project managers to standards and make sure they check in with eomployees.

    Pros

Free product, open work space, modern, fast pace. Great following. The consultants are passionate.

    Cons

A little dysfunctional, but that is with most companies. If you are flexible and can run with things just knowing what the end goal is, then you are fine. Tons of ambiguity, so you have to just make it work. Growing rapidly, but almost to rapid.

I have been working at Rodan + Fields part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You are basically a share holder in a multi-billion dollar industry (anti-aging skin care market).
    No inventory
    No sales quotas
    No party requirements
    No shipping
    Amazing return policy
    Clinically Proven Skin Care
    No animal testing

You can literally work anywhere you use the internet and as often as you want.
I could go on and on,

    Cons

You cannot guarantee your income. People put out false claims that you are having to debunk/defend on a regular basis. People are not educated on Direct Sales/MLM, yet make assumptions.
